History
11th Dimension Entertainment was founded in 1990 by
Matthew Engle and
Daniel Berke. The two of them have been working on computer games since junior high school. The idea to create 11th Dimension Entertainment was an idea that first came to them while having lunch at Farmer's Market in Los Angeles, and before long the company was created. Matthew and Daniel began writing text adventure game parodies of the famous
Zork series, and over the years honed their game design and programming expertise. In 1989, they won the Grand Prize at the Rockwell Computer Science Competition for their game
Skyland's Star, and it was released in 1990 to the shareware market.
