So few comments, I wouldn’t have listened to this podcast to be honest if my brother and I weren’t sharing the 360 to play GTA 4. I have a research paper to do but I totally wouldn’t be doing it if I could play GTA 4 right now. Good podcast though guys.
You can download it from iTunes immediately. The file is usually posted to our XML feed before this story is even posted to the site every week.
Make sure you subscribe to the podcast and aren’t trying to download it via the iTunes Store. The iTunes Store often takes over a week to update properly and is only meant to let you briefly sample a podcast before choosing to subscribe.
If you’re subscribed and still can’t see the latest episode, try closing and re-opening iTunes. You may have an old version of our feed cached.
If all else fails, try going to http://media.giantbomb.com/podcast/podcast.xml - either using itunes’ manual subscription option or any modern web browser. If you don’t see the most recent episode there, either we messed up (possible, but not likely, especially in this week’s case) or you’re still seeing an old, cached version of the file.
Perhaps it is because I am defaulting to the Australian iTunes store that it generally takes a bit longer to get updated editions of podcasts (I always seem to get them a few hours after release, irrelevant of who’s podcast it it).
Why don’t you guys use 5 hour energy? that stuff is way better than the stuff you’re using. It works crazy fast and has no crash and lasts a long time.
And btw…using=drinking. Do you even have 5 hour energy in San Fran? I live in NY and we have it. Its a magical little bottle that you can get at most gas stations. I got a 2 pack for like 6 dollars at Rite Aid Pharmacy. They’re really small, actually about the same amount as a shot glass. They come in various flavors. Not the best tasting, but really gets the job done and for a long period of time. If you don’t have it out there, let me know and I will send you one to try and if you like it, you can probably order it online or something.
Way to make me totally fucking jealous. Anyway, good show, and I think you’ve attained complete fame: GianBomb.com is registered and a linkfarm. Oh yeah.
What happened to Alex in the middle of the night? One second he’s there, then some transitional music, then Alex is just *gone* and it’s like he was never there.
Send out a search party. It’s getting all Trotsky up in here.
I always thought GTA San Andreas should have had GTA 2 in it, playable through an arcade machine. And now i am disappointed to see that GTA IV doesn’t have it either.
While the game within a game idea isn’t a bad one, I’d say
A) It’d make more sense to have GTA 2 playable in the computer cafe (which DOES have a gaming terminal) than at an arcade, since it wasn’t, to my knowledge, an arcade game, and B) There would be something disturbing about playing an earlier GTA INSIDE a later GTA. I’d rather have something like Geometry Wars (there are some arcade machines around in the various GTAs, but nothing overly deep that I’d want to play a long time) or what have you. I’d rather have GTA2 as an unlockable through a menu. That’s just me. Of course GTA IV doesn’t really HAVE a main menu, just a pause menu so….
Great game though, and I’m totally with Ryan in terms of the tolls. Only time I pay them is when I positively cannot afford to be chased by the cops for some reason or other. I don’t want to be the kind of person who pays $60 for a game to simulate the experience of sitting in a car in line to pay a bridge toll.
guys. the live show and the Bomb!cast are were both awesome. Kinda wish you guys had more live shows like that so keep them coming! you guys rock, and counting down ’till the full site is up!
Nah, on the Golden Gate Bridge you can drive right through the FastTrack lanes. They do send you angry, angry letters, and will eventually arrest you, but so far it seems more likely that Jeff and Ryan killed him for his GTA4 lockbox.
I’m bout 3 quarters through the game and I freaking love it. You guys are now my fave source for videogame news and energy drinks. Keep it coming, you guys rock.
This cast was wandering all over the place, with no common thread at all. It was very difficult not to like it. 12 ghosts out of 22 ice cream cones for dedication to putting giantbomb out there at any cost. +1 fan for Giant Bomb.
Ian, I believe I can answer your question, as I own both versions of the game (I am indeed quite insane).
The PS3 version is, like many of said, slightly more technically sound overall. However, it is 640/630p (not sure precisely which), with various filters to make it look all snazzy. The problem is this: it also makes the game look way too damn fuzzy and blurry, in my opinion. Driving through the city in the PS3 version gives me a headache after an hour or so of gaming.
The 360 version has a slightly more stable framerate, but suffers from texture and object pop-in from time to time (the PS3 does as well, but nearly as often). However, the visuals are much sharper, and didn’t give me one damn headache.
The PS3 version locked up on me once. The 360 hasn’t … yet.
I drink spike shooter a few times a week and the reason they have that warning on the can is because one can of that stuff has 3 times the amount of caffine that you are suppose to have in one day. So i guess they are required to have that warning on the can. Love the podcast guys, keep it up.
For all of you who are giving ideas to what happen to Mr. Navarro after the timelapse, well your ideas are all wrong..take a look to his blog and you find what happen..
The bombcast was great as always..I seriously cannot wait to put my hands on gta IV. Hope you’re enjoying it..don’t rush it..take your time playing the game and then give us your idea (review)..we all know that gtaIV is awesome so…
Short, but good. Hope the next podcast will be back in the 1 1/2 hour style. Have enjoyed all of the 16 hours, 25 minutes and 16 seconds of the podcasts you have made. Keep on going strong.

Alex N is back! Giant Bomb is my favorite podcast at the moment. Thanks for putting it out gratis
Oh no! Alex must have gotten lost in the time lapse!
Le awesum. I think 40 minutes is just fine (although I kinda like those almost 2 hour ones)
Gonna listen later today!
Solid podcast. I’m working my way through as i type. Kind of. It is paused.
I am about 3 hours in. About ~10-11% complete per the pause menu. Have 65 gamerscore. It is pretty awesome.
Also, the podcast isnt 40 minutes its 67 per my iTunes.
Like ten hours in now, I should sleep or go back to school sometime this week……..
Great Podcast! GTAIV came out at the wrong time for me. I will have to wait until after finals to start playing Argh!

Sorry to be annoying, but around the 37:50 mark in this podcast, is Ryan smoking a joint? Cuz that’s what is sounds like lol.
Way to make me totally fucking jealous. Anyway, good show, and I think you’ve attained complete fame: GianBomb.com is registered and a linkfarm. Oh yeah.
I will probably be picking my GTA today.
I ordered some Mojo btw, it wasnt bad at all.
I can see tumbleweeds blowing past here, such is the impact of GTA4.
Great episode guys!
Great episode guys! (sorry, I put in the wrong e-mail)
Indeed it was Kavinsky you heard. Check his myspace page, it’s all GTA’d out!

Awesome Bombcast. Dissapointed no one got steaks though.

Great bombcast, by the way.
Live by the bomb, die by the bomb.

Gamers unite! Lock your lock boxes!
Alex Navarro… makes for much awse.
Does no one else find it gross that these swap spit alot with these power drinks?
Freaking nasty.
Two dudes should NOT be handing drinks back and forth.
I’m actually not sad that you guys killed Alex during the time lapse.
Soooooooweeeeeeet!
guys. the live show and the Bomb!cast are were both awesome. Kinda wish you guys had more live shows like that so keep them coming! you guys rock, and counting down ’till the full site is up!
@Gamble:
Yes 40 minutes is short, the bombcast is 90 or 100 minutes long on average.
I’m Guessing Alex N. Didn’t return because he tried to speed through a toll gate on the way home and got arrested.
Ryan’s Advice to pay tolls didn’t refer to GTA- It referred to real life.
Nah, on the Golden Gate Bridge you can drive right through the FastTrack lanes. They do send you angry, angry letters, and will eventually arrest you, but so far it seems more likely that Jeff and Ryan killed him for his GTA4 lockbox.
I know what you did, Gertmann.
i wonder if the jeff and ryan are still playing
They’re playing, for sure.
WARM COFFEE
I’m bout 3 quarters through the game and I freaking love it. You guys are now my fave source for videogame news and energy drinks. Keep it coming, you guys rock.
Looking around a lot of ppl are putting the 360 version as the “better” of the two.
Is the ps3 comparable or even better than the 360 version (graphically, system wise handeling the physics and game load etc…)
This cast was wandering all over the place, with no common thread at all. It was very difficult not to like it. 12 ghosts out of 22 ice cream cones for dedication to putting giantbomb out there at any cost. +1 fan for Giant Bomb.
Going to listen to tomorrow. I was way way to busy to even listen to more than one song on my iPod today!
Do. Whatever. It. Takes. To. Get. Alex. Navaro. He. Is. Awesome.
Halva is made of sesame and sugar. It usually tastes best when it’s homemade.
Ian, I believe I can answer your question, as I own both versions of the game (I am indeed quite insane).

Other than that, they’re pretty much identical.
About the PS3 pop-in: I meant to say “NOT nearly as often.” My mistake.
Ya, gre cast, me breda! You keep postin` and thing, sin?
Hey Jeff and Ryan,
I drink spike shooter a few times a week and the reason they have that warning on the can is because one can of that stuff has 3 times the amount of caffine that you are suppose to have in one day. So i guess they are required to have that warning on the can. Love the podcast guys, keep it up.
Steve
You guys are hilarious! I wish there were shows everyday!
Another great bombcast. I’m glad Alex joined in. I hope you guys are having as much fun playing GTA IV as I am.
Alex isn’t a guest he is part of the crew.
So the 360 does indeed look better and worse at the same time.
The 360 version of GTAIV I meant. I must remember not to post when I’m too sleepy…
For all of you who are giving ideas to what happen to Mr. Navarro after the timelapse, well your ideas are all wrong..take a look to his blog and you find what happen..
