    2K Games was founded in January 25, 2005 as a subsidiary Take-Two Interactive and is headquartered in Novato, California with satellite offices in New York City and Windsor, UK. Beyond the 2K Games label, they also operate 2K Sports, which publishes all of the company's sports titles as well as 2K Play which publishes casual and family oriented titles.

    Firaxis Games

    Firaxis Games was founded in 1996 by Sid Meier, Jeff Briggs and Brian Reynolds. They are located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. They are famous for developing a number of well known strategy game franchises including Civilization, Pirates! and Railroads!, all of which carry the "Sid Meier's" moniker.

    Irrational Games

    Founded in 1997 by Ken Levine, Jonathan Chey, and Robert Fermier. They are located in Quincy, Massachusetts. Their first big hit game with System Shock 2, a role playing game for the PC. In 2007, they released Bioshock which received strong sales and won numerous awards. They are currently developing Bioshock Infinite. For a short while the studio took on the name 2K Boston, before being returning to its original name Irrational Games in 2010. Thee studio closed down in 2014.

    2K Czech

    2K Czech is located in Brno, Czech Republic. They were formed in 1997 by Petr Vochozka as Illusion Softworks, before being acquired by 2K and renamed 2K Czech.

    Their most notable games are the Mafia and Hidden & Dangerous franchises. Their latest game, Top Spin 4, was released on March 15, 2011.

    2K Marin is located in Novato, California and Canberra, Australia, and is largely comprised of former 2K Boston employees who developed BioShock.

    Their latest game, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, was released on October 8, 2013 in conjunction with 2K Australia.

    2K China

    Located in Shanghai, 2K China has taken on various development responsibilities assisting with the development of games under the 2K Games and 2K Sports labels.

    Cat Daddy Games

    Located in Kirkland, WA, Cat Daddy is responsible for developing the surprising top selling Carnival Games for Nintendo Wii under the 2K Play label.

    Hangar 13

    Founded in 2014, Hangar 13 is located next to 2K Games in Novato, California. The studio is headed by Haden Blackman, the former Senior Executive Producer of the Star Wars franchise at LucasArts Entertainment.

    The studio's goal is to develop games that further innovate player-driven experiences. Their first game is Mafia III, set to release in 2016.
