Overview
2K Games was founded in January 25, 2005. 2K is located in Novato, California. They are a subsidiary Take-Two Interactive. They have different divisions which are, 2K Sports and 2K Play. 2K Sports works with the MLB: 2K games. 2K Play works on family games. 2K Games has published around 39 games. With three still being made. Their most famous game is Bioshock, which one countless Game of the Year awards. They also published the very popular The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game. Other works include some of the Sid Meier games. They have two games scheduled to be released this year. Bioshock 2, and Borderlands.Studios

Firaxis Games
Firaxis was founded in 1996 by Sid Meier, Jeff Briggs and Brian Reynolds. They are located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. They are famous for the Sid Meier games for the PC and later PS3, Xbox 360 and handhelds. It wasn't until 2005 when Take-Two picked them up that 2K published their games. They used to be published by EA from 1996-2005. Around 130 people work here.
2K Boston/2K Australia
2K Boston/ 2K Australia used to be known as Irrational Games. They were founded in 1997 by Ken Levine, Jonathan Chey, and Robert Fermier. As their name suggest, they are located in two different areas, but are the same studio basically. They have offices in Quincy, Massachusetts and Canberra, Australia. Their first big hit game with System Shock 2, a role playing game for the PC. Then in 2007 they stuck gold with Bioshock. Which got them lots of Game of the Year awards. 2K Boston is not working on Bioshock 2. 2K Marlin and 2K Australia are working on that.
2K Czech
2K Czech is located in Brno, Czech Republic. They formed in 1997 under the name Illusion Software. It was founded by Petr Vochozka. Their most notable games are the Mafia and Hidden & Dangerous war games. They are currently working on Mafia II. Which is due to come out in early 2010. 2K gained Illusion Software in 2008 and renamed it 2K Czech.
2K Marin
2K Marin is located in Novato, California. Made up of some former 2K Boston. They are part of the BioShock, BioShock 2 long list of developers.
2K Play
2K Play is 2K's family studio. As the suggests they make many kid friendly games. They have worked on many Dora the Explorer games and also Birthday Party Bash, Carnival Games and Carnival Games Mini Golf
