50 Cent Achievements Revealed?

Posted by Jeff (3577 posts) -
A list of achievements for 50 Cent's upcoming third-person shooter, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, popped up over on Achieve360Points, and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed by them. It's all pretty standard stuff, with points for completing each of the game's nine missions--each one of those achievements is named after a song. Then there are co-op achievements for each mission, and those are just sort of the same as the single-player achievements but with "Our" in the title. So "Candy Shop" becomes "Our Candy Shop."

The game also has achievements for collecting badges. Seriously? Badges? The guy that has been positioned as SuperGangsta #1 is collecting things that cops wear? He'd better be getting them by shooting those cops in the face...

No references to getting shot nine times? That's also weak, but I can understand why the guy might not want to put too much of a focus on getting shot (even if it sometimes seems like it comes up in half his songs). But here's the greatest missed opportunity of them all: the game only has 46 achievements. You're telling me that you're making a game with 50 Cent and you can't even have 50 achievements? Am I just being a jerk now? Is it me? Am I the bad guy?

Then again, I guess that's what I get for hoping that anything 50 Cent-related could ever be imaginative. Oh, who am I kidding? Even though I think his music and persona is about as played out as it could get, I'm still insanely curious to see how this game ends up. You would think I would know better by now.

There's some additional footage of the game out there, along with an interview conducted by the true game headz over at TrueGameHeadz. Check this out, the game actually looks like it could be pretty good:

Dear 50,

Please squash the beef with all those other rappers and stop revisiting it every chance you get. It all just stinks of a pathetic PR campaign, makes you sound like you're whining, and is totally irrelevant here in 2008. Also, please stop writing bad love songs for women. You are not LL Cool J. Oh, also, you shouldn't want to be LL Cool J anymore. And, really, you should know better.

XOXO,
Jeff

PS: The list of achievements Ryan and I slapped together are way better.

I bought his "first" officially released mainstream album and then I had my fill. He's too much of a kid with all his beef with other rappers.

Is there a game mechanic where I get to shoot him 9 times? That could be pretty sweet.

Hm, 50 cent seems like a pretty cool guy.

Sorry 50, you aren't even gonna get half a dollar from me for your lousy game.  I think our local landfills are destined to own more copies of this game than E.T.  Actually it'll probably sell a lot due to some of the morons in the suburbs who buy his music thinking he's "gangsta," when really all he does is an act.  I read an article about 50 in a business magazine and he doesn't even smoke weed and do the things he says in his songs.  He's actually kinda quiet in person, which is quite unlike his persona on TV.

I'm not usually much for the bullshit "beef" that goes on, but 50 Cent went down to Houston and dissed a rap legend who died and was chased off stage and escorted to a hotel by several bodyguards.  A couple underground legends dissed him on a mixtape, but 50 was afraid to say anything back since he knows they're legit.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1K9ZzwhSig

Heh, he didn't seem like a bad dude in that interview. Will try his game based purely on that.

Man, 50 actually knew what he was talking about...didnt think I'd ever say this, but it doesnt look bad either.

I hate the way he thinks he's the shit because he got shot 9 times. Pansy.

"Self-proclaimed by me"???

#16 Posted by Crono (2666 posts) -

They certainly did get the weapon sounds/effects right. Guns sound meaty. Medal of Honor could learn from that.

I still want to know when we're going to see Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, and Tone Loc face off in a "Best of the Worst" version of Def Jam.

This game will probably be BAAAAAAAAAAAAD.  But who knows, it could be good this time around.

Don't get mad. Get money.

#22 Posted by TinoXtreme (300 posts) -

Money is the only real reason why 50 cent is doing this. Just another product he is selling because he knows the youth that are attracted by his music will buy them. If 50 cent wasn't as smart as he is in making money, he would of never made it this far in the rap game.

I kind of like the 50 cent of the video you provide..

#24 Posted by PitifullPete (145 posts) -

It's especially interesting how 50c even talks in a more "normal" tone than the interviewer who desperately tries to be cool.

#25 Posted by SgtReznor (210 posts) -

after how freakin' bad the last Fiddy' game was, how the fuck did this project get the green light?

#26 Posted by SgtReznor (210 posts) -

also, how can a guy that mumbles so much when he talks be a rapper?

#27 Posted by SpikeDelight (694 posts) -

This game actually looks like a fairly competent shooter with a ridiculous plot. It's hilarious that he just read about that skull in a magazine and decided "Yeah I'll put that in the game." Isn't that like a piece of artwork that someone did? If I'm not mistaken it was like the most expensive piece of art ever sold. I'd hate to see the copyright suit surrounding that! But I'll probably rent this game if it doesn't get horrible reviews like the last one did just to see how fucking awesomely stupid it is (and of course for some Achievements). I guarantee if they do it with the right amount of absurdness it'll be a hilarious good time.

What a waste of time of making this game!

What the hell is up with this chump host? This guy is trying to vocally out-hood 50 . . .  I'd be willing to place money on that guy having a lovely upbringing, involving proper English and piano lessons. Anyone?

Did anyone else notice that the gameplay appears to be identical to Gears of War? Personally I'd rather see a Gears 2 expansion in which you play as Cole the entire time.

That game looks really good. 50s model looks really polished. I hope this game turns out good since i love HipHop/Rap, especially those form Dr. Dre's stable.(Dre --> Eminem --> 50 Cent. Da Chain from Dre to 50) Well the story seems pretty throw away but the action could make up for it so fingers crossed.

I like 50 since he seems like a down to earth person and knows what he wants and doesn't think hes the best thing ever and really works hard to be where hes at. The guys over at Three Red Lights(IGNs 360 podcast) had a cool interview this the guy that started out slow but when he loosened up he really seemd to enjoy working whit games and wanted to work on other games that doesn't really focus on him or star him at all. You guys should check it out, its in the 50th ep of TRL.
