I never heard of this podcast before. I'm so going to give their backlog a listen.

Giant Bomb x 8-4
Two of my favourite gaming podcasts under one roof... Hooray!?! Technically nothing will change for me I guess, as I'll still receive my podcasts through iTunes... So still... Hooray...
Sweet. Although I guess this doesn't really change things for me since I already listen to both podcasts regularly.
@zack1: They visited way back in October 2008. That is an older video.
Edit: Had forgotten the year, 2008.
I love learning about stuff like this. There are so many teams and aspects of game development that we have no concept of. Good to see more.

So, are these guys going to be contributing the site as well, or is this Giant Bomb adding a page for their podcast?
Just a page for the podcast.
But I'm sure their person pages will become weirdly obsessive as if they were staff. Looking forward to that!

The only potential problem I see with this is Giant Bomb's coverage of games 8-4 has worked on...
This won't impact anything we talk about or how we talk about it, promise!
Heh, poor Patrick has to dedicate the last third of that article to pretty much go, "RELAX, s'cool". Hey, anything you guys wanna introduce me to I'm more than happy to give a few tries of.

So no further Adrenalin Misfits coverage? Bummer.
Sounds good to me. I could always do for more podcasts to have in the background while I work.
Localization is something that's so extremely important, yet far too often companies are really too cheap about it. SE's and Namco's efforts at localizations are often disgraceful when you put them up against the likes of Atlus and Persona.

8-4 does a lot of the tales localizations btw
they also did Nier, though, which was fantastic and amazing.
This is cool. 8-4 Play is my go-to extra podcast when I'm on breaks from school and have already burned through all the Giant Bomb content I can. Mark MacDonald is awesome.
Patrick, your next project should be to find a way to wrangle one Mr. Shane "Man-God" Bettenhausen back into the fold.

But that's not really up to you, is it? Giant Bomb decided they were too close to the Bastion team and the development of that game and didn't review it. How can you look at something objectively when you're this close to the group and not let that bias your opinion of a game?
I'm mostly looking forward to getting some perspective on games I should check out coming out of Japan. While there's the occasional big release, I feel like a lot falls through the cracks unless it gets a ton of buzz, at least as someone who doesn't have time to follow more than one game site.

difference between people who localize a game and people who actually made the game.

Hmm, I'll need to check out which ones. Tales is certainly the better of Namco's products when it comes to localizations from what I've played, especially when given the sheer amount of dialogue that's in those games.

This localization gets 0 stars!

See, the beauty of this partnership is that GB never has and was never planning to cover anything 8-4 has worked on. Don't worry, they weren't gonna review or even upload as much as a trailer for Tales of Graces f either way.
