Games that are very graphically abstract, and don't strive to be realistic.

Abstract art style often employs a lot of lines and geometric shapes that don't resemble any real-life objects. A perfect example is Geometry Wars, a game which uses nothing but lines to create geometric shapes.

What is not abstract:

Abstract does not equal stylized or cartoony.

The dictionary defines abstract as it relates to art style:

"of or pertaining to the formal aspect of art, emphasizing lines, colors, generalized or geometrical forms, etc., esp. with reference to their relationship to one another." (Source: Dictionary.com)

For something to be considered abstract it should not resemble anything realistic, even in a heavily stylized way.
