    Achievement Attempt Detection

    Concept »

The game detects a player's achievement progress and shows some form of progress indicator on-screen.

    Short summary describing this concept.

    Overview

Usually in games it is common to find achievements based on the "do X, Y times" formula. In games which support it, there can be an achievement progress bar which appears on-screen to let the player know what kind of progress they are making. For example in Gears of War 2 when you pick up a collectible, the game has a little box pop up on the right hand side and updates you straight away, or for the more insanely intense achievements, it will pop up every significant milestone.

It should be noted that this does NOT refer to the system level pop-up notification that an achievement has been earned, nor does it refer to an in-game menu that shows achievement progress.
