The group I have been playing with has been finding it useful to get at least two sniper turrets up asap as well as flak turrets up by the blue base. It seems that the Volt Dropper is what gives us the most trouble, and upgraded snipers and flak emplacements seem to at least chip away a bit more.
Additionally, getting mine layers placed under the bridge becomes quite helpful against sneak attacks when your focus is elsewhere. I personally always try and place my weapons off the ground when possible to avoid knob attacks from cleaning out your hard work.
