Due to how badly the games were made, there were many speculations that this game was made to scam parents who buy this. Many people believe this due to the fact that Active Enterprises tried to pitch the main game of the cartridge, Cheetahmen, into a big franchise. They tried to make it as big as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but failed due to the poor sales of the game. However, the game did get a sequel, Cheetahmen 2, which was released a year later.
