Stop Buying/Playing Blizzard Games Now
uh, no.
So lets look over your logic, let them make fantastic well polished masterpieces of games, then reward them by not buying it.
IW got in the bed with devil, and now they're paying for it. I guess no one knew EA would turn around like they did though.
I don't buy Activision games to begin with because of their business/management style. As such, the games made this way never see a copy sold because of me. That said, Blizzard does not have these styles. The studio, from what I've been able to tell, is untouched by Kotick's influence outside of maybe a bit of funds to help promote it. As such Blizzard will see my money.
Because the way Activision is going thanks to Kotick those games will continue getting poorer in quality as time goes on and you will have only yourself to blame for supporting them and not trying to do something to make them change." Why would i punish myself by not playing Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3? That's just retarded. "
What people don't realize is that he is basically giving the finger to all his critics and Activision followers after the Infinity Ward fiasco telling them "if you don't buy our console games we don't care we still got WoW, so stfu."
I'm not playing any Blizzard games right now, but Starcraft 2 is coming out, Diablo 3 on the way and that unnamed new MMO they were talking about should surface soon..
Not gonna happen. Even if every user at GB would quit Blizzard, do you think it'd matter? Do you know how many people play WoW? Have you noticed the original Starcraft is like a national sport over in Korea?
The situation you describe really sucks for those people but the games are far too popular to be able to influence in this manner.
" @Marz said:I can hold no respect for Activision and the corporate management of the company while still respecting Blizzards developers and enjoying their games.Because the way Activision is going thanks to Kotick those games will continue getting poorer in quality as time goes on and you will have only yourself to blame for supporting them and not trying to do something to make them change. 'Fraid I can't do that, broski. I will pay whatever company publishes StarCraft II/Diablo III. And at this point in time, that happens to be Actiblizz.
I don't think it's fair to punish Blizzard just to spite Activision. Blizzard's games are very popular, and when Starcraft 2 is released, your call to action will be shot down. Just boycott Activision products from now on, which shouldn't be to hard, it doesn't look like they have anything halfway decent coming out for a while.
I would make some fantastically witty post, but I ran out of my funny essence on the black ops thread a couple minutes ago. Let's just say, NO!
I hate Kotick as much as the next guy, but I'll buy an Activision or a Blizzard game that is a quality product. I'll probably be getting Starcraft 2.
i've been anticipating the releases of sc2 and d3 for years. their development predates this corporate nonsense affecting blizzard, and i'm not going to deprive myself of quality games that are going to receive incredible levels of support and content.
if it makes you feel better, i understand where you're coming from, and at least i won't be buying any other activision-related products in the foreseeable future. it's not like i was buying them to begin with, though.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that this thread was going after all this time. My resolve is the same if not more so since my initial post, I feel for a great deal of people here that are going to to be mistreated by companies like Activision Blizzard in the future.
I am obviously representing a group of people who do not feel the need to reveal themselves in any form, except when at the register purchasing games by companies who publicly disrespect their consumers and talent.
Believe me when I tell you that this is the best course of action anyone can take against a company who conducts themselves in this manner.
I thank you all for your time and consideration.
Lol @ the OP. Lookin at what was said 8 years ago, after what all has happened in the past 6 months... It's hilarious.
Way ahead of you, Blizzard hasn't made anything that interested me in quite some time.
I'll check back when they do another warcraft, which is probably never going to happen and if they do, it will have been changed so much by two decades of WoW.
I'm with you that Bobby Kotick is a prick but that tone's making me REALLY wanna go buy a shit ton of Blizzard games...
I actually thought that this thread was made recently. Some of these comments haven't aged well at all. For reason, people 8 years ago were really mad that this person asked to other people to join a boycott.
People really wanted to believe that Blizzard was entirely separate from Activision
Activision ..... Activision never changes.

The same thing happened in 2018 where stuck in a time loop!
