Minor complaint but for someone that hasn't watched the second series that picture is a pretty big spoiler.

Which finished more than six months ago.

Everything is a spoiler for someone about something. Deal.

Not in my country.

Yeah, well, sorry, but STUFF continued to happen in season 2 of the show.

Well count how many hands Merle has. It's actually not a spoiler for anything in season 2, I promise.

Guess what Activision, you are making a Zombie FPS. Let me tell you how much this sucks ass.

#104 Posted by gbrading (2071 posts) -

It won't hold a candle to the adventure game. What's the point of another first-person zombie shooter?

#105 Posted by Deusoma (3018 posts) -

Now this is a Walking Dead game I might actually play. What a pleasant surprise, Friday is turning out to be a good news day.

Left 4 Dead doesn't exactly encapsulate the Walking Dead experience.
#107 Posted by nERVEcenter (183 posts) -

Here I am hoping that another Walking Dead property can handle Daryl and Merle as deftly as the show does, and make an experience focused on them interesting and introspective into societal paradigms in a post-apocalyptic world, but what the fuck. It's Activision. If the game's going to sell, it's not going to do any of that.

First Person Shzzzzzzzz zzzz ... no thanks, I'm good with the telltale adventure episodes.

The Walking Dead does. The Telltale one. See? You already have what you're looking for.

#111 Posted by TheDudeOfGaming (6078 posts) -

I think I'll stick with the, in my mind already, vastly superior Telltale version. But thanks anyway.

#112 Posted by TheSouthernDandy (3906 posts) -

Eehhh...I'll remain someone hopeful after reading the survival bit. But yeah...eehhhhhh.

#113 Posted by gamergutz (81 posts) -

I wont knock it til i see gameplay footage.

#114 Posted by Lucien21 (108 posts) -

Activision obviously has no clue about what the comic or show is about. A FPS is the last thing this game should be. The zombies are the background to the story and not the stars. I has always been about the survivors who are the real walking dead.

#115 Posted by xxNBxx (978 posts) -

If its more Day Z and less Dead Island I will pick it up.

#116 Edited by lord_canti (1517 posts) -

my knowledge of the walking dead is from the game and a couple of mates that are obsessed with it but isnt the point of it that loud noises attract them (gun fire) so they use bats and axes and stuff

i heard there's a really great bit with a farm

#118 Posted by theguy (796 posts) -

Really? An FPS? That is not suited to this series. There was rarely shooting in the comics and even in the series there was very little. They're going to have to "action it up" to make it work and by "action it up" I mean "ruin the whole spirit of the story". I am dissapoint games industry.

#119 Posted by CrazyCannuck (32 posts) -

I want to cry!!! oh well I can add Zombie Shooters to the list of stuff not to waste my money on.

#120 Posted by kgb0515 (411 posts) -

I mean, this could be good right? Call of Duty has a zombie mode in World at War and Black Ops, so Activision should be backing a sure thing.....right? Wait, no....no this will probably be terrible.

#121 Posted by nick_verissimo (1390 posts) -

Robert Kirkman is really milking this for all its worth, isn't he? Oh well, give us a Walking Dead musical while you're at it!

Maybe it's DayZ-like, with higher production values. Unlikely, but that would be cool.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The show (the only medium I've seen it on) was very adamant about being careful not to draw attention with sound, and if they don't completely screw it up, they could make something close to what I was thinking DayZ could be as well.

I'm still waiting for a L4D in a open world.

Daryl is the best thing about that stupid show.

Did you get into a car crash last Friday or something? Brain damage is a very serious problem it seems.

#129 Posted by fiberpay (282 posts) -

Daryl's a great character. Looking forward to some gameplay of this. I found the last episode of Telltales game pretty predictable, so hopefully it don't burn me out on The Walking Dead before this comes out.

Even your blatant irritation cannot sour my mood, for this is a fine day indeed. I do hope whatever is really bothering you works out for the best, dear Captain, as I wish you only the best. n_n

You are the problem with everything...

Nosir, the problem with this particular issue is that I'm simply not interested in adventure games anymore, regardless of quality. First-person shooters, on the other hand, continue to keep me entertained provided they are well made.

The episodic Walking Dead series is made up entirely of adventure games. This one is a first-person shooter. Ergo, "this is a Walking Dead game I might actually play." At no point did I cast aspersions on the Telltale product, I merely voiced my own opinion. This isn't rocket science, friend.

Although it does amuse me that the real "problem with everything", at least as much as it pertains to the Internet, is people being rude and horrible to each other with little provocation, and your reaction to my comment, and those of a couple of other people, are picture-perfect examples of this.

Nonetheless, I am still in a fantastic mood, and wish you only the best, as it really has been a good day for me.

Time to dust off that design doc for a Wayne's World Sims expansion.

#133 Posted by Dalai (7042 posts) -

If I have the option to shoot Lori or Carl, I'm all for it. Otherwise, fuck this game.

But I'll eventually try out the Telltale version with the pointing and clicking.

#134 Posted by guiseppe (2842 posts) -

Totally down with this. Just hope it's good.

#135 Posted by mikey87144 (1797 posts) -

Something tells me that the game will play like COD and have a story like COD. I expect nothing from this game.

#136 Posted by project343 (2833 posts) -

Nope. Not the way I want my Walking Dead. First person shooter-ing not play to the strengths of the series at all...

I've always loved the irony in someone hating someone else because of their hate, i.e. hating racists because they're racist, thus creating more hate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a proponent of racism, I just enjoy studying human psychology. It's interesting at the very least.

This is idiotic.

Yup, racist people are outwardly hurtful to others based on fake constructs. I think it's fair game to dislike them for this.

#140 Posted by SpydrMrphy (88 posts) -

So we're finally getting another Redneck Rampage sequel, this time with zombies. Sweet.

#141 Posted by Subjugation (4725 posts) -

FPS? You never want to shoot your gun because it will attract more walkers. Who gave this the go ahead? Someone woefully out of touch with what this IP actually is?

#142 Posted by killacam (1285 posts) -

they should get telltale to do it.

#143 Posted by Ulong (445 posts) -

First person shooter based on the comics where they try to use guns as little as possible because they will attract zombies. Seems like a great idea.

#144 Posted by snowflame (39 posts) -

I'm very happy that...

Well, that Terminal Reality is still in business. Still waiting for Bloodrayne 3! (no, Betrayal, while cool, doesn't count).

Pretty much how I feel as well. The two Telltale episodes so far have been really excellent, and play to the strengths of what The Walking Dead is all about. This game's existence seems unnecessary, but I guess that's business for ya!
#146 Edited by fisk0 (4291 posts) -

I hope it won't be a straight up FPS, but in the vein of Terminal Reality's Descent style 6DOF FPS games Terminal Velocity/Fury3/Hellbender. Imagine shooting zombies, in mine shafts, with a bow, from a hovercraft unaffected by gravity!

#147 Posted by Warchief (658 posts) -

a FPS from activision!?!?!?! I am stunned and amazed.

I agree with you. The whole survival concept in a first person shooter sounds pretty intriguing.

- Not to be a dick, but in this article "canon" should be "cannon"

=) Kind of cool news though. Kind of. If the storytelling quality is anywhere near that of the Telltale game, I'm interested.
