I'm just going to embed this trailer, let you know that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick is featured in this trailer, and mention that Activision has confirmed it's actually Kotick--not a lookalike. Okay.

Kotick's going to make annual movie franchises now.

I wonder if they pick up Willie Mays Hayes.

I don't understand why so many gaming websites are writing this up as a news story. It's a real business executive acting in a movie, it has happened before.

#14 Posted by Artemis_D (814 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

This movie looks good... so why is that horrible horrible man in it?

#15 Posted by Delphye (382 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

Like to know how this all went down.

#16 Posted by AlexanderSheen (3547 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

For some reason I had a Social Network feeling when I watched this.

#17 Posted by QKT (237 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

looks like its just a cameo. because the man is so up his own arse.

#18 Posted by Vexxan (4553 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

I think that's pretty cool.

#19 Posted by admanb (208 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

This was a good book. Trailer looks... kind of dull.

King Kotick transcends media :bow

That Black Keys song is in almost as many trailers as Power is.
Almost.

So that's why he got rid of West and Zampella...

Sabermetrics.

Think positive: He should turn this into a career-switching opportunity. :)

So this is what all of our CoD money are going to.... Meeting Brad Pitt.

You've got good instincts. Aaron Sorkin wrote the scripts for both films.

I know someone who's an extra in that movie,

I know someone who's in a movie with Bobby Kotick,

I am 2 degrees of separation from Bobby Kotick.

Plus it's in NHL 11 and a couple other video games.

It's the "Dragula" of alternative rock at this point.

If people didn't hate him as much as they do, it probably wouldn't be a news story. But he's probably the most hated person in the game industry, so it is news I guess. Personally I find the amount of effort people put into hating someone who is far from the worst person in the world really pathetic. But I guess there's no hate like gamer hate. MY VIDEOGAMES NOOOOOO!!!

I think the great Scientist Marcus said it well when he said, and I quote: "Bobby Kotick is a cunt."

I'm pretty interested to see EA and Riccitiello's reaction to this.
Hopefully in the next Battlefield 3 press release or trailer.

Kotick won't even change that scary-ass wig for HOLLYWOOD. Lovely.

I'm of two minds on this, on one hand as a Baseball fan and a Boston Red Sox fan (2007 is a textbook Moneyball Championship) I really really want to see this movie. On the other I really really HATE Bobby Kotick. Dilemma.

#37 Posted by Droop (1689 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

Baseball + Bobby Kotick = Double no.

#38 Posted by ArcLyte (858 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

seriously fuck kotick. i can just imagine the process that greedy prick went through to land a role in a movie with brad pitt. this shouldn't be bothering me as much as it is, but it's clear that he's a stereotypical fat cat executive who sees the world in dollar signs and nothing more.

So I guess he gets a Screened page now?

#43 Posted by PoToSkull (61 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

Its probably a case where very rich man says "I think I wanna be in a movie"

uses absurd amount of money to get a bit part. Then tells everyone "oh yea since a kid i've always wanted to act."

No dude you just have a ton of money, and use it to buy your way into stuff like this. Am I jealous....You bet your ass I am!

I first read the headline like this:

Yes, That's Bobby Kotick Acting Alongside Brad Pitt in Monkeyball

#46 Posted by yyZiggurat (921 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

Pitt looks a lot more like Robert Redford these days.

#47 Posted by Redsox44 (470 posts) - 1 year, 11 months ago

Aww man I love baseball but not Bobby Kotick. I'll still watch this movie, looks good.
