Somebody kill Kotick.

#152 Posted by Wandel (55 posts) -

So, his Brad Pitt a gamer, and he wanted Kotick for some method acting to help him get mad?

Kotick is almost as ugly in person as what is left of his soul

I want a Kotick mode in the next COD: Basically in multiplayer someone grabs a suitcase of money and it everybody's priority to shoot him in the dick.

LMAO

Is Bobby the guy that says "This is not New York"...?
Yeah.

Spoiler:
The A's win the world series, and are heralded as the greatest team to grace the diamond. Unfortunately, they do not sell enough merchandise, so Bobby Kotick quickly disassembles the team and they vanish into obscurity.

#162 Posted by Portis (1287 posts) -

Okay, 3 things:

  • Why?
  • Bobby Kotick is a really odd looking guy.
  • Trailer wasn't so hot.
#163 Posted by essi2 (144 posts) -

Kotick is a mad man.... and not the good kind.

So that's why he got rid of West and Zampella...  Sabermetrics.
That doesn't make sense. Their WAR was well above replacement-level.

Damn, this dude is a legit baller.

The A's only made it to the playoffs under Bean. Maybe they won a series, but never made it to the World Series.

Why is this "News" still here?

#170 Posted by jmic75 (264 posts) -

I'll give you 30 million dollars to fund your movie if you give me a bit part in it.

Yes of course, by your command lord Kotick.

uh....huh.

#172 Posted by CrazedJoker (321 posts) -
@Ezekeilpurger: HA! Good shit, sir. Bringing the A game.
#173 Posted by DoctorLazy (93 posts) -

Baseball, literally the most boring sport ever.

#174 Posted by Branthog (5562 posts) -

So is Money Ball a new movie that's coming out or something? Sounds terrible. I quit watching about twelve seconds in, when I saw guys playing baseball. *yawn*.

#175 Posted by MetalGearSunny (6992 posts) -

Makes sense.

#176 Posted by StriderNo9 (1092 posts) -

The movie looks good though.

#177 Posted by Kadayi (185 posts) -

I assume this a comedy, because Kotick is a joke.

#178 Posted by TinyGallon (193 posts) -

The Moneyball book is a great read - totally recommended even for casual fans of the sport

Not sure about the movie yet.. but the trailer seems pretty close to the text, which is promising

everytime i see these dodge commercials i think the cars going to flip and a dead body is going to roll out and dexter is gonna be like OH SHIT

#180 Posted by TorMasturba (1094 posts) -

I like how Bobby is the guy in the movie that tells Brad he can't do something. Just like real life huh?

This is a joke, right?

Right????? Oh dear god, please tell me this is a joke. Just a sick, sick, perverted joke.

EDIT: I think Kotick, at some point, needs to become a little self-aware and be the bad guy in a movie or the last boss in a video game. Maybe, even best of all, there is a twist in the final Modern Warfare game where he is the secret supervisor of Makarov and the guy who nukes the planet.

I loved that book and cannot wait to see the movie. Just for the nostalgia of the good Oakland Athletics.

Yeah I'm really curious how this is going to play out. Ironically I picked up the book off my shelf today to read at the DMV and then I get to work and GiantBomb has posted this.

#185 Posted by jessej07 (213 posts) -

Looks good, get the man an Oscar!

#186 Posted by skunkdragon (212 posts) -

Are they playing rounder's???

#187 Posted by coolwhip83 (88 posts) -

Will this movie be re-released yearly now that Kotick is involved?

#188 Posted by S0ndor (2716 posts) -

An expert liar like him could make a fine actor some day.

Kotick won't even change that scary-ass wig for HOLLYWOOD. Lovely.

I'm of two minds on this, on one hand as a Baseball fan and a Boston Red Sox fan (2007 is a textbook Moneyball Championship) I really really want to see this movie. On the other I really really HATE Bobby Kotick. Dilemma.

oh yes, that scrappy Boston Red Sox champion team, cobbled together with a measly $143 million payroll, barely even second in all the major leagues!
#190 Posted by Mojokilla (36 posts) -

I don't say this just out of semi-jealousy for his ability to make more money than I will ever see... But he is one funny looking dude.

#191 Posted by Ersanven (91 posts) -

Hopefully, he gives up Activision for acting. Because he sucks as a CEO.

@abara:

There's no limit on how much you can spend using Sabremetrics, it's about using your money wisely. Poor teams can spend wisely, rich can spend poorly, poor can spend poorly, rich can spend wisely.

#195 Posted by ShadowSkill11 (1783 posts) -

We need the part of an asshole business man for our movie. Who can we get...

#196 Posted by Raven_Sword (3447 posts) -

lol, when I saw that trailer before the green lantern movie I literaly did a double take.

#198 Posted by ZombiePie (5673 posts) -

I'm a huge Oakland A's fan and in light of the last three years I want to say that Billy Beane has run this organization straight to the ground. For God's sake if you are going to make a film about the A's make it a bio-pic about Charlie O. Finley. He was ten times more interesting and at least the A's won a World Series under his management.
