In the distant future, our galaxy is under attack. A race of aliens known as the Seekers are trying to discover the last of an ancient race referred to as "humans". Meanwhile, human Gideon Wyath, his brother Ethan, and his fiancee Olivia are all on a small orbital outpost, the Luriam, which quickly falls under attack by the Seekers, and Gideon must escape with his family. But before he can, he must make a decision to either save his brother or his fiancee. Once he did escape, his ship crash landed on a planet called Edumea. From there, Gideon and whoever he chose to save meet the race that the Seekers are looking for, the Aurelians. They tell Gideon that he has a great power that can be unlocked within him to stop the Seekers and save the galaxy. He trains himself to gain these powers, allowing him to manipulate objects in his surroundings and the energy in the universe. Having lost his brother or fiancee, Gideon is determined to stop the Seeker menace.
Originally planned as a trilogy, Advent Rising is filled with technical flaws such as: frame rate and clipping issues, check points that spawn the player under the stage, disappearing terrain and bosses, and so much more.. A million dollar contest was also planned when the game was released as players are set to find hidden collectibles (one per area) to increase their chances of winning the big bucks. Instead, that contest was so filled with bugs and other issues that the developers had to call it off. All of those combining together made Advent Rising a flop both critically and domestically as the trilogy never continued.
Olivia
Gideon's fiancee. Works for the federation as a physicist with 5 other elite members.
Marin Steele
Executive pilot for a leading contractor of the Federation military.
He has trained himself in human telekinetic acts.
Their hidden purpose is to destroy all Humans in the galaxy.
Throughout Advent Rising, Gideon acquires many weapons he can use at his disposal.
-Armor Piercing Rounds
-Mounted Grenade Launcher
-Capable at shooting 3 rockets at a time
-Missiles can be free fired or guided
-Rounds can explode on impact or have a delayed explosion effect
-Can track enemy life signs
- Rounds Explode on Contact
-Can be charged to unleash a powerful multi-directional shot
-Can self-explode at close range
-Can be charged up so that when it hits an organic entity it unleashes smaller energy balls that can ricochet of objects

-Missiles can be guided
Throughout the game, your allies ( The Aurelians ) will unlock special powers that you can use to defeat the Seekers.
-While enemies are lifted in the air you can do a variety of things
- Shoot at them
-Throw them at other enemies or objects
-Can choose to have the enemy suspended in place while Gideon moves freely or pick up multiple enemies
-Mastery of this skill allows Gideon to speed up so everything else moves at a slow rate
- Mastery of this skill allows you to snatch a weapon out of an enemies hand
-Mastery of this skill will allow you to deploy multiple shields at once
-Alt. mode generates a bubble shield around Gideon
-Mastery of this skill allows full 360 degrees of destruction
-Hold trigger to increase power
-Mastery of this skill allows you to freeze enemies
-Full Mastery allows a bigger radius allowing multiple enemies to be frozen at once
