Aerith is one of the lead female protagonists in Final Fantasy VII, and has also appeared in other titles under the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" title.
Aerith Gainsborough (known as "Aeris" in the original North American release of Final Fantasy VII) begins Final Fantasy VII as a flower girl. She is the first character seen in the game as she walks through the streets of Midgar in the game's opening video. Further along the story, Aerith is met by Cloud Strife, the game's main protagonist, as he crashes through her church ceiling in the slums of Sector 5. Soon it is revealed that she is being chased by Shinra's special forces known as the Turks. In order to be protected from the Turks, Aerith asks Cloud to become her bodyguard in return for a single date. Unfortunately she is captured, but quickly returns to Cloud and joins him on his quest to save the world from Sephiroth.Aerith Gainsborough games
