    Gameplay

The rocket ships of Aero Racer are controlled by their thrusters via the d-pad, which send them coasting left and right, combined with a main forward thrust, initiated by the x button.  This is enhanced with a grind mechanic, wherein the ship rides as close as possible to the wall of the track, providing an extra boost and points.  This element, along with boost and dead zones (colored green and purple, respectively) scattered through the various raceways, add diversity to the odd-shaped tracks that populate the race events, challenges and grand prix modes of the game.
