Al Horford is a 6'10", 245 lb. Center from the University of Florida who plays for the Atlanta Hawks. Al Horford was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. He went to high school at Grand Ledge in Grand Ledge, Michigan. He chose to go to the University of Florida, where he played three seasons. During his freshman year, the Florida Gators won the SEC Championship. During his sophomore and junior seasons Florida won 2 National Championships. Horford decided to forgo his senior season to enter the 2007 NBA Draft. He was picked 3rd overall. His rookie campaign impressed so much that he was second in voting of the NBA Rookie of the Year to Kevin Durant. He averaged 10.1 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game during his rookie year, 2007-08. For 2008-09 Horford averaged 11.5 points per game and 9.3 rebounds per game. Horford has made a big impact on the Hawks roster, propelling the Hawks to one of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference.
