...While beer certainly is high on the list, I've found several occasions where it just didn't feel optimal. I find that rum, or anything rummy usually works very nice in the gaming couch.

for an alcoholic one a beer would do me good but mostly I'll just sit down with a glass of cloudy lemonade, that or some Irn-Bru.

Totally agree with OP. A mixed rundrink that I made myself is great. Also a glass or 2 of red wine or a few beers. But really, a good mixed drink is great. 
If I'm going non alcoholic a big can of an energy drink of choice or if I'm all out of everything I'll go with a big cup of strong coffee.

Agreeing with DEllen there, Irn-Bru is the best for alcohol-free gaming.
 
I generally got with a pint or six of bitter for gaming. Something light though.

Tea, Pepsi or Lucozade Sport, maybe apple juice
 
that being said they are the only drinks I drink, I usually have enough caffeine in my system that staying alert for games isn't a problem

can't go wrong with beer. unless you drink too much and fuck up your battlefield ratios. oops.

I usually don't drink alcohol while gaming though, it's usually tea or water.

Mike's...but never too many. I find that after 3, Wolfenstein 3D becomes unplayable.

i would say milk shake but i cant think of a situation that milk shake isnt a good beverage

Depends entirely on what I'm playing. If it's something slow paced or story driven I drink scotch normally glenfidditch but if it's something more fast paced I go with maybe a beer or a rye and coke. Of course if I'm not in a boozy kind of mood I go with my stand by of either pepsi with lime or home made ice tea.

Beer, coffee, energy drinks and hard liquor.... Ride the high, the runs, crash, rage..... repeat.

Booze.  Booze is great for fun games that don't really matter.  When it's bad = kdr and multiplayer 'Splosion Man are not improving.
