Alice is back, and so is her fragile grasp on reality. She must journey through both Victorian London and the dark world of Wonderland to retain her sanity and find out the truth behind her family's deaths, in this long-awaited sequel to American McGee's Alice.
@Forcen: Eh. Wasn't the whole thing about Crysis 2 having DLC stuff not going through Steam, which Valve didn't like and thusly removed it from Steam? I didn't think it affected every single EA game.
it is indeed, and you know what, im going to buy it. If it wasnt, i wouldnt. Sorry if that offends people that dont understand why people only use 1 service
We already kinda knew that. The origin page for Alice said "ONLY AVAILABLE ON ORIGIN UNTIL JUNE 17TH!" which stated that it was exclusive to Origin until the 17th, and then it would become available on other services. And other digital distribution services like Gamersgate have been advertising it as coming out on June 17th for a while. And EA have been doing this sort of thing for a while with certain releases. Some games (e.g. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit) have only been on their store for a while, and then release it on other services (including steam) later. It was pretty obvious that they were doing this with Alice.
Of course none of this was a guarantee that Alice would come to Steam itself, but it really isn't a surprise that it has.
UPDATE: Electronic Arts has responded to my questions regarding its current relationship with Steam, claiming Crysis 2 was not removed from Steam because EA asked. Instead, EA claims Steam "imposed a set of business terms" that resulted in an existing agreement Crytek had regarding Crysis 2 that "violates the new rules," resulting in the "expulsion" of Crysis 2.
"It’s unfortunate that Steam has removed Crysis 2 from their service. This was not an EA decision or the result of any action by EA.
Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service – many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam.
That to me sounds like it was Valve having issues with Crysis 2, and nothing else.
