I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt. Even if it sucks, it's bound to be better than Burton's craptacular take on it...

Never played the first one, but this has sparked my interest. A dark Wonderland seems like a fun place to explore.

I just remember my mother-in-law lending me the first game after she played it, and the thing I took away from the experience was the respect that she would play something as messed up as that game :).

Also the phone calls with her describing attacking things "with her little machete" with her great Yorkshire accent :).  Ahh, memories.

Definitely wait and see on this one.  The last game had atmosphere that stood out at the time but I can't help but think that it doesn't necessarily stand out so well in the modern game market.  Heck, as recently as Limbo we're seeing more "establish a mood" with the art than we used to.

" First off, American McGee is a hack so I perfectly understand why EA wouldn't want to attach his name to this. Also, I'm kind of over this whole "edgy" Alice in Wonderland thing that everyone has always tried to achieve for whatever reason. After that Tim Burton absolute shitfest, I'm pretty burned out on Alice. But if McGee can actually manage to make the game compelling from a gameplay perspective, then I'm in. Until then, I'm skeptical. "
o whatever, your always skeptical. You live in a perpetual state of skept. "
I think the smart option here, when someone decides to remix a classic story, is that it won't be as good as the original. You don't see people doing this shit to Moby Dick, Animal Farm, or Catcher or the Rye every year. At this point I don't know how anyone who's a real fan of the original story can do anything but roll their eyes at "oh we made Alice in Wonderland more metal yall".

    WTF?
OMG, I can't believe this!! Absolutely loved the original back in the days for some reason. Definitely most anticipated new game for me now. Going to risk it and get it on release without checking out reviews.

I never ended up playing the original outside the demo. I was so young that demos were enough no matter how much I liked to play some of those (quite weird when I think about it now). Anyone know where I could still get the original? As far as I know, Steam and even GOG aren't selling it.

Spicy horse does sound like something people in China would eat.
