The first trailer and some screenshots of Aliens vs Predator 3 have surfaced over at Shacknews. The trailer is pretty brief and doesn't show much, but it's a sign the game is picking up speed after it was announced not too long ago!

The screens look a little bit too good, but I'm still excited since I'm a huge Predator fan.

"Meh" trailer except for one thing.  Ever since AVP for the PC came out in '99, the sound of the motion detector beeping scares the willies out of me. Hearing that again has reawakened that old paranoia. 

I'm stoked. I love being scared.

Early 2010 can't come soon enough.

I'm happy, I loved the PC games back in the day, especially the first. This looks great, hopefully it will be good enough to keep fans of both happy.

What's the deal with the Gearbox project, has that been confirmed as shut down also, or is there still hope for that?. 

The Aliens license deserves so much better, I find it astounding there are no quality current gen games revolving around the franchise, both of them. Hopefully this will put that right. The Gearbox game looked like it was due to, it sounded great in concept.

Super nice to see, Big Alien fan so i am kinda excited

I was already glad that this game would be in first person, but hearing that Rebellion is making this (after doing such a good job on the first two) makes it even more exciting.

IGN already had impressions of the Predator gameplay, and it sounded good. Now I want to hear more about how the Alien plays. Maybe the alien will have the lifecycle/tutorial section like from the second game. That was cool.

That 3rd screenshot looks awesome. I'd rather have the Alien FPS or RPG they were once working on at a point, but I guess this will do.

People keep saying this is badass.  I don't think people understand the definition of badass.

Only played AvP2, but being the space marine is definitely intense.  Looking forward to this one.

I loved playing as the Alien in the first game in multiplayer. Just being able to get to places no one else could and hide in the shadows. Really unique game and really fun.

I loved everything about the first AVPs, so a part of me is very skeptical about this, I want to believe it can turn out good though. I really hope it does, a next gen AVP game that feels like it should would be absolutely amazing.

I was more interested in the Aliens: Colonial Marines, was that canned for sure or is that getting a release some time?

That looks awesome. Hopefully playing as the Preds won't feel so underwhelming because, well, I love Predators.
