    Alter ego is a video game and a simulation type video game. Developed by Peter J. Favaro for the Commodore 64, Apple II, DOS and Mac OS, it was released in 1986. At advertisement stages the game was advertised as being similar to the Sims in the way you ego (character) will develop into something interactive.

    Gameplay

    Alter Ego is a Sims type video game, an early game you play as yourself (alter ego); playing through the game you are given a tree to select from with icons displayed on the branches. After selecting an icon you are transported back to the tree. Throughout selecting from the tree your ego will grow (age), through selecting the different options at the tree stage that will influence what your ego can and cannot do.
