Amumu, the Sad Mummy

Overview

Amumu may look like a sad mummy, but in League of Legends he is anything but frail. Fueled by his anger and sadness, Amumu uses his bandages to immobilize other champions. He is typically played as a tank character, soaking up damage and leading the charge, but he can also be played as a mage. He costs 1350 Influence Points or 585 Riot Points and was added to the game on June 26, 2009.

Backstory

Amumu is known as the sad mummy because he is constantly in a state of despair. Thought to be the oldest member of the League, the first thing he can remember is waking up in the heart of a pyramid, alone. His heart was not beating and he was wrapped head to toe in bandages. Worse, he could feel a great sadness that would never go away; he knew he had parents, but he could remember nothing about them, only that they were gone.

Abilities

Passive Ability : Amumu's autoattacks reduce the target's magic resistance for 4 seconds. This ability does not stack.

Active Ability (Q): Throws a bandage at the target, dealing magic damage and stunning them for 1 second, while pulling Amumu toward them.

Toggle (W): Overcome by the sadness that Amumu feels, surrounding enemies take a base damage and lose a percentage of their maximum health each second.

Passive: Amumu takes a reduced amount of damage from physical attacks and abilities.

Active Ability (E): Magic damage is dealt to surrounding enemies. The cooldown on Tantrum is reduced by 0.5 seconds each time Amumu is hit by an autoattack.

Active Ability (R): Amumu entangles enemy units, dealing magic damage and preventing them from moving or autoattacking for 2 seconds.

Trivia

• Amumu's dance is a reference to the "Goth Dance" from South Park.
• Amumu's "Sad Robot" skin temporarily had a bug a which caused his laugh taunt to be heard by everyone in the game, regardless if they had vision of Amumu or not.
• Amumu's bandage toss icon may be a reference to Spider-Man.
