I am a ps3 exclusive console owner. It feels that the Ps3 is always getting shafted. I love my console... just get bummed every time i listen to media about how good it could have been.

I choose to play each game wherever it works better, even for a few more bucks. No telling which version is better on this game until it gets released.

US customers getting the short stick instead of European customers. Now that is a fucking first.

They don't even get the short stick. The PSN guys just would've to pay as much as the Europeans and they start crying right away.

I'm still not entirely sure what to think of this game, but an interesting way to go about pricing it I guess, it's quite obvious which option's going to win, even if it does push the release back a week.

games are cheaper here than in america. msp is a complete joke, $10 games are like £6 lolololo

#106 Posted by Humanity (8722 posts) -

PC gaming is still a lot more popular in Europe, Eastern Europe especially. Everything console related is a lot more expensive that's not even going into the whole socio-economic aspect of lower income per person as compared to the US.

And this is why democracy doesn't work.

#108 Posted by Rebirth1337 (795 posts) -

Wow really guys, you would rather wait a whole week to get the game than to pay 3 bucks more.

#109 Posted by Mistzero (298 posts) -

I have a question, What?

#110 Posted by jjacobsson (53 posts) -
@AlexW00d You might want to read that again. Europeans pay more for Microsoft points than Americans do.

It's the same thing steam had a while back where games were priced with the same number but different currencies.
#111 Posted by AlexW00d (6168 posts) -

@jjacobsson: What do you mean a while back? That still happens.

#112 Posted by gamer812 (43 posts) -

The date is going to be pushed back a week for PSN? Thanks a lot cheapos.

This is why democracy doesn't work... in an individualist society. Add a little collectivist in there, and that should do the trick.

@D_W:

HMMM OK !!!!!

If there was not an Xbox version you would pay the higher price on PS3 and 'lump it'

As there is a cheaper Xbox version ( devolpers choice on. pricing nothing to do with MS)

Sony fans complained, so the publisher dropped the PS3 version price. .

How exactly has MS messed this up for SONY ??????? ------- Less profits maybe ??????

On other things DUDE it is called the console war for a reason.

All 3 are in it to win it. If they do not hamper theirr rivals, then their rivals will wipe them out.

The crud NINTY pulled when it dominateded, and after them SONY did when it ruled with the PS1, PS2 . Black mailing companies to give them exclusive games, or they would refuse to give those companies licences being the worst.

About the worst MS does is buys timed exclusives- big deal 360 owners gets new COD maps a month early. It is not like those 2 consoles can play against each other online.

Infact MS policy gives PSN store a lot of exclusives as it will not have sloppy 2nds games , games either come out on xbla first or the same time as PSN ( well a day later actually). Also a ton of XBL: XNA Indie games ends up as polished exclusive PSN games.

As a European gamer MS has done wonderful things for consoles / gamers in that those of us in Europe gets all the latest games around the same time as USA , we do not have to wait 6 months to a year to never; like we did before XBOX 1 . Heck even NINTY are timely in putting out European releases now - A THING I THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER SEE lol.

SONY a typical Japanese company that had no time for the internet,launched a crap online service .But thanks to the excellence of XBL, they have had to constantly improve it, to the point now, that if you factor in that it is free , then SONY has the better online service.

PHEWWWW !!!!!! RANT OVER

But please let me know how you logic it out that PS3 owners getting a cheaper game, means MS are causing problems for other consoles ?

also why a cheaper game is a bad thing ??

#116 Posted by Narx (172 posts) -

I would be quite curious to see why the different cost on PS3. I would see this as a bad move I guess because some people do have both consoles and would go for the cheaper one, especially if there is no differences between both versions.

They must have a reason I guess. Pretty sure 90% of people will pick the lower price tough.

Man the Xbox really does seem to mess up so many things for other consoles. I wonder if it's all kind of intentional.

Well when they throw money around to deny everybody DLC it's certainly intentional haha I get the feeling 360 is the "standard" of this generation though if ya know what I mean.

#118 Posted by MideonNViscera (2257 posts) -

Also, the only real bad thing about MS points is how they sell them to you in completely different increments than they sell anything for.

Haw haw it says "Dig Deeper Into Amy" on the right.

...I've got nothin' else, sorry.

@SAYNTofSYNNERS Who is this NINTY you keep refering to?
#121 Posted by SAYNTofSYNNERS (87 posts) -

@Dagbiker:

NINTY = NINTENDO

#122 Posted by SAYNTofSYNNERS (87 posts) -

@MideonNViscera:

They delay other systems getting DLC, they do not block those systems getting that DLC in the end.Kinda how PS3 got the BATTLEFIELD 3 DLC first.

Heck all 360 3rd party exclusive games- the ones worth playing anyway ,are only timed exclusives , all end up on other sysytems in the end, and better versions usually with the bugs ironed out and all dlc free- so MS does not even block other system only owners from playing great games.

Unlike a certain company that last gen. blackmailed oh I do not know-- lets say RedOctane into only releasing GUITAR HERO 1 on their system. Who also tried to do the same this gen, but their new system was yet to / about launch and ACTIVISION owned REDOCTANE by that timel; so it did'nt work and GH went multi platform.

I have X-Box, and I'm glad I get the shit early while my PS3 friend (who I should really bring to this board someday considering how often I have to cite him) gets butthurt because he has to wait for everything. So in my experience, they actually are fucking people. Not that I care, because it's not me haha

I do agree that 3rd party exclusives are mostly a thing of the past though. It was nice not to have to buy a PS3 just to play Guitar Hero, GTA, and Final Fantasy.

How is this not a publicity stunt?

Besides the incredibly dumb poll (Sony/MS should poll if devs want to pay less on dev kits, and these guys might say no?) how exactly does this dev get more from US gamers that pay $10 worth of Xbox points compared to $10 in PSN? Is Microsoft paying them more in their currency for the same $10 each XBLA gamer spends?

This also isn't the first cross XBLA/PSN game. We've been buying games on both stores for 5 years now without a price controversy, yet suddenly US gamers paying the same money on both is an issue.

Also have to go to Facebook to vote... yeah, reeks of publicity stunt. But with this being reported here, Joystiq, Kotaku, and elsewhere it unfortunately worked. The only cost to them for this stunt is PS3 users get to wait an extra week.

#125 Posted by Gordo789 (355 posts) -

seems like they should have just made sure they were the same price in the first place, then PS3 owners wouldn't have to wait.

#126 Posted by hollitz (1398 posts) -

Was probably going to play this on 360 anyway, but I think I'll just wait until it's on sale because this is just fucking stupid.

#127 Posted by DragonNinja789 (335 posts) -

What? how does a price change push back a release date?

#128 Posted by K3vinkha0S (61 posts) -

Everything about this developers ploy to try to charge more on one platform vs another is...well... dumb no matter how they try to justify it. Hence making this article irrelevant.

Apparently Amy is dreadful anyway.
