In a distant, chaotic future, cyborgs beat the crap out of each other in this multiplayer-heavy 3D beat 'em up from the developers of MadWorld and Bayonetta.

I haven't heard good Japanese written, English sung rap in a video game since the Dreamcast days, and this game has it on every level. Raps about mutated monsters, street fights, toxic environments....it's all beautiful.

Wrong forum and you didn't even post any examples to further your case!
...Anywhoo after listening to some of the tracks, I dunno, it all sounds well made but it's just not pulling me in like it is for seemingly everyone else. I might grow towards it when I've listened to it more within the context of the game.

I like the sound of that! I had almost forgotten this game was a thing. But it's a Platinum joint at a $30 price point, so I feel like its worth picking up and giving it a go, even if it seems like a bit of a shallow hack and slash. As a man who plays a lot of Dynasty Warriors and its ilk, I can probably find something to like, especially if the game is super duper weird in that lovable Japanese video game way.

@beard_of_zeus: I don't much care for the typical soundtracks found in the Dynasty Warriors games, but Samurai and Orochi have some fun tracks in there. Especially the character selection theme for the first two Orochi games. I would often just sit there tapping the shoulder buttons to the beat.

I'm pretty sure all of the songs in Anarchy Reigns were written by native English rappers, no? I know that at least a few of the songs were written by pretty well-known underground talent and that one of the American staff who works at Platinum managed to get a formerly retired trio back together to contribute a song to the game. To my knowledge, if anybody at Platinum had any involvement in their lyrical creation, it was more him and less any of the native Japanese staff.

I can't tell if you guys are being serious or not?!
I listened to the three tracks linked at the top and it sounds AWFUL. All three of them sound pretty much like the same song and they all seem like they were ripped from some spastic commercial for children with ADHD played during the breaks of a Saturday morning cartoon block from the 1990s.

Yeah guys stop it, video games are srious stuff. These songs are stupid, stop putting stupid stuffs in videogames. This doesn't even sound like I can buy a grammy nominated soundtrack for it.

Yes! Thank you! Though, it's not that it sounds "stupid", it's just that I couldn't tell if people were being snarky about it or legitimately thought it was great . . . because it just sounds like some manufactured cookie-cutter pseudo-rap laid over some stock no-royalty techno-beats. Kind of like how if I said "Man, American Horror is a fucking amazing show with great writing and plot!", you'd probably rightfully assume I was being a sarcastic asshole.
Anyway, can I just start using some sort of a [INSERT VINNY_SAYS FOR ME] tags into posts from now on and you can follow up after me and say what I'd like to say for me?

Haha oh boy, I picked this game up tonight, and you aren't kidding. There are some amazing so-bad-it's-good rap jams up in here. So dumb, but I love it.

Near forgot about this game until I watched the QL and the soundtrack is something else. I ordered the game right after watching the QL, can't wait to play it tomorrow and listen to some of these dope beats
I'm with Branthog on this one as well. I'm a fan of the opening menu song and when I was about to play I expected that the soundtrack would be filled with songs like that. Some nice jazz would be good to hype up the game but overall it just sounds like bad rap, and I'm a big fan of rap. I don't know, it just sounds overbearing like the music from the Devil May Cry soundtrack. That or a really bad imitation of some of the songs from the wonderful soundtrack from The World Ends With You (mostly thinking of Twister).

People have opinions. Just in case you didn't know.
Also I find it great and a lot of fun that fits the game.

This game is some of the best fun I've had in a very long time and the soundtrack is some funky fresh icing on the cake. It's just all so perfect in what it sets out to do. I'm in love.

I don't usually like rap / hip hop, but man this soundtrack is something else. Just bought it on iTunes for 8€ and i have to say i feel like i robbed them for this work of art for so cheap.

Holy shit the music in this game is the worst.
A strong reminder of how different people's tastes can be that people like it at all.

Dude I'm with you, but I guess they like it. It sounds just like the awful SEGA music of the Dreamcast era that I was hoping died but somehow it reappeared in 2013.

No. I do not agree.
Branthog actually said the majority of what I would say, although I would've worded it as "every one of those songs sounds like something that Chemical Brothers rejected from Dig Your Own Hole." That is NOT a knock on Dig Your Own Hole btw.
