We all think the same way! Shame on us all.

Seriously can't wait for this. I have ploughed so many hours into all the other versions of the game, I see no reason why this won't soak up many more.

Yeah, but Tom Nook just sends Copper and Booker to tear gas and disperse the tents and then that just stops happening for the rest of the game.

What about that fox guy? He always set up tents and rips me off with fake paintings.

@SexyToad: Look, Copper and Booker have more important things to worry about, and Tom Nook has a lot of bells to throw around.

I'm still very disappointed the game isn't coming this year, but it really is sounding better and better.

There must be a sizable amount of translation work that need to be done, naturally an increase in features only adds to this amount of work. Nintendo are very sluggish in this area though, I think this is partly because they run all their work through one localization team in Redmond, when what they really need are new teams.

I cannot see it coming out here until the May onwards... Japan are getting it next month.

Thanks for the roundup!

Never played an Animal Crossing game before but this time I'm on-board! 3DS seems like the perfect platform for a game like this.

This goes for me as well. I think I might actually get this game digital. It would be a great game to have in your 3DS forever. FOR....EV......ER....

I would prefer buying a regular 3DS, since the XL version seems to large for my own taste - so it would be kind of silly for me to pay more for it. I still really wish that Animal Crossing-themed 3DS XL is released outside of Japan, because a) that's a really cute design, b) a pre-loaded digital copy of the latest Animal Crossing game that outweighs the sizing issue and c) if this is the only way of getting a digital copy of Animal Crossing: Jump out at the time of the game's release, then I 100% want it.

Also, why do the Japanese people keep saying something that sounds like "masu" at the end of sentences? Is this something like "desu"?

#24 Posted by Wong_Fei_Hung (642 posts) -

Just a few new pics I found on the Japanese Twitter for the game...

#25 Posted by Colourful_Hippie (4368 posts) -

I played a little bit of the first and none of the sequels. I'm all over this game.

Travel via boat to an island and enjoy a song at the same time

A boat ride AND a song? Jesus, sign me up.

Seriously, I don't get the appeal of Animal Crossing. You spend hours filling hours filling your house with useless shit you can't even play with. It's not like The Sims where that stuff affects your player in some way, most of it just sits there taking up space and the rest of it has maybe a single function (Oh cool, it lit up. Oh cool, it made a sound effect).

There's no job system to earn money, so you're forced into the painfully boring task of picking up fruit or sea shells to sell (and your inventory is very limited so you take 2 or 3 trips to clean out the town), and after you are paid your little sum of money you're forced into this situation of spending it on cool stuff (which doesn't do anything, but hey, you want your house to look nice) or pay off the bastard that is Tom Nook (who forced you into debt) so he can find you more useless shit to buy.

#30 Posted by Wong_Fei_Hung (642 posts) -

@Landon:

It's akin to Zen meditation, you would have to see the appeal of performing simple routines, and seeing nature perform it's routines, and acting accordingly. Once you start effecting the people in your neighborhood, and begin to see the subtle effects your actions have on their lives, you get very attached to them and your surroundings.

This is actually one of the reasons I bought the 3DS. I was told this game was coming out in June 2011. Then it was pushed back to August. Then January, then I think it was pushed back again and I stopped asking Gamestop after that.
