So the time has come for a mainstream OS to come out with a centralized application store for the users.  I got the update earlier this morning, so I've been checking it out.  First opinion is that it's alright.  From the gamer's viewpoint...fuck this shit.  If you got Snow Leopard, just update from OSX and you'll get it at the reboot...for people still on Leopard or lower, I think it's time to upgrade.  Anyways, at least now we'll have a feel for what Windows 8 will do with it's App Store in 2012.
EDIT:  Snow Leopard can be bought for less than 30 bucks right now, so for the love of god, just upgrade already if you haven't.  It's one-third of the price of Windows 7.

  • Applications are Centralized
  • Always saved on account, and the downloads are quick.
  • Very clean, and works well.
  • Will be great for newcomers who are looking for certain applications, and it's much better than downloading from another site.
  • Games are over-priced.
  • Steam is better.
  • App Game Store for OSX Sucks

I keep forgetting that Snow Leopard exists. I really should upgrade already.

@PrivateIronTFU:'s only 30 bucks.  You might need it to upgrade to Lion too, but don't quote me on that.  Now that I think about it, it might just be better to upgrade to Lion to save 30 bucks.
