    Arcade

    Platform »

Stand-alone machines specialized for individual games. Arcades began the game industry and peaked in popularity before home consoles took over the gaming public. Arcade games usually cost 25 cents, or 100 yen, per play. Known for the most cutting-edge technology of their time, arcades have the largest video game library, and greatest variety of control methods, of any platform.

Need help recalling a boat-based arcade game...

All I remember about it is it was a stand up cabinet, had a pedal at floor level for acceleration, and a steering wheel. I think you were ferrying packages or something, but it was a speed boat. I played it sometime in the Mid 90's, in my dentist's office next to a Street Fighter II: CE cabinet.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

I know the game you're talking about, but i don't remember the name myself.

You were on a speedboat that at the start of each 'mission' got a package which you had to deliver, and there were bonus missions where you had to try and jump on ramps and go through hoops for points.

That game was awesome.  My Walmart used to have it in its "Fun Center".  Now the "Fun Center" in my Walmart is a piece of shit now.

We are both thinking of the same game. And no, it's not Hydro Thunder, as awesome as that game is.
