Overview
Armor Games, originally Games of Gondor, is a free Flash gaming website created by Daniel McNeely in 2004. It offers a curated catalogue of free online games for players, uploaded by their original developers, as well as a variety of free online MMORPGs. The company has sponsored the development and release of many iconic Flash games, including the Sushi Cat and Sonny series, and has begun moving out into publishing premium indie titles in the last several years for desktop, mobile devices, and console as Armor Games Studios.
ArmorGames.com
Armor Games is a website where players can enjoy free online games, and interact with one another using the forums, chat, and comment features. They are also able to create personalized user profiles, and unlock special achievements called Quests for popular games that are unique to the website. The site is ad-supported, with the option for players to purchase an ad-free viewing option for varying lengths of time. Recently, the site opened up support for HTML5 games.
Armor Games Studios
Armor Games Studios is the publishing arm of the company that helps with the development for premium indie titles. Creators may pitch their games to the company, and if an agreement is struck, the developer receives the resources they need to finish and release the game under the company's banner. While Armor Games Studios has released many titles primarily on mobile devices for free, others such as Thomas Brush's Pinstripe were developed purely as premium desktop and console titles.
