    Is there any way we can start organizing events with this group? A fair question to ask given the size of our still-growing team. Here are the facts as gathered from the Team Men tab, and my spare thoughts fostered in classroom boredom:

    DA FACTS

    Team So Far

    Fatir (myself)

    lordwolf35

    kinnonyee

    Commisar123

    CdotRUN

    kingofpeanuts

    catbond

    Luca-717

    Doltz

    Giantstalker

    macrossvsxzero

    Hypotamoose

    t-tocs

    JeevesPleez

    Enns13

    McGeethe2nd

    Freezer_Burn911

    ggrukus

    That's 18 people-- a substantial amount to work with. And before I continue, I'd like to first address the issue about Mic's; there are ways around the PS3's VOIP. The part I need help with is thinking of creative ideas to make that statement true, such as;

    • Vent / Teamspeak over laptops / desktops if applicable
    • If coverage plans allow it, conference calls over cellphones

    The issue with these two is that they're not nearly flexible enough. Both require very specific conditions to be met, though the first not nearly as improbable as the second. But still, if you have any ideas, please share them.

    THE PROPOSITION

    I propose we get organized and start systematically attacking neighboring territories in alternating waves with teams built around coinciding work schedules. Here are my idea's on how to make this work;

    Once a team has been formed, it'd then become the responsibility of its members to decide unit composition (e.g. sniper, heavy, decoy, ac specialist, etc) that'd best suit the teams overall performance. Don't hesitate to try new builds, but if you are certain your forte is medium-weight / range + high-speed, don't hesitate to stick to your guns. But remember-- there are other teams out there more organized than we will initially be. We must prepare for the eventuality of playing against skilled and well-coordinated players with a balanced composition of AC's to handle multiple situations.

    Be smart; you're as strong as your weakest link. If you notice that your comrade is getting singled out repeatedly because he's using a light-weight AC, thus an easy first choice, play on that assumption. The wicked will turn eventualities such as this into a trap, and use a predictable behavior to their advantage. Since Armored Core is nothing like anything else (other than Gundam, I guess, but be real-- there's no true alternative to ACV to compare strategy with given their now drastically altered play-style), it's important to share strategies with one another, and truly adopt the "Group Think" mindset.

    For those unfamiliar with the term, Wikipedia's definition is spot on accurate;

    Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within groups of people. It is the mode of thinking that happens when the desire for harmony in a decision-making group overrides a realistic appraisal of alternatives. Group members try to minimize conflict and reach a consensus decision without critical evaluation of alternative ideas or viewpoints.

    Now, within an organizational context, Groupthink is the exact opposite of what is good. Alternatives to otherwise what would be simple problems get overlooked because everyone within the group has adopted similar views, to the point that differentiation between ideas becomes minimized, and thus small problems quickly escalate into crises. However, this isn't an organization we're talking about. Groupthink is exactly what Arena teams in large PvP oriented MMO's strive for during matches. That harmony will let strategies become not only understood, but absorbed, and raise one's situational awareness to truly adapt with shifting situations.

    THE GOAL

    The team is CA based. I'm based in VA-- that's both coasts, and I'm sure there are others in between as well. If we had alternating attack squads between 2 or 3 teams based on converging schedules, we could probably start taking over. Since we have the advantage of this forum, we all have a base of operations where we can congregate and share ideas seamlessly, making the management of this task much easier. But what we want to start seeing is smiling bombs littered across territory maps as we begin expanding, and with our expansion, more resources will become available to us. And not just new parts and shit, I mean people from the tams we broke down will defect, and there's nothing wrong with strength in numbers.

    This will unlock the full potential of our investment, and honestly, I get jittery at the idea of coordinated mech battles in this game, especially with how FROM SOFTWARE has shifted back to their roots. For those who joined the AC party late (3+), the first few AC games were very geometrically similar to ACV, the focus being buildings and cities and underground facilities. This adds a layer of strategy that we never saw with For Answer, one that can make coordinated matchs fucking biblically awesome.

    So, my final question is as follows;

    Anyone else down?

    e// -- I am no expert in anything I talked about. I'm a college student 2 credits away from graduation who's fascinated with giant robots / mechs in general, who's had a little too much time to think about this shit. If you have ANY suggestions on how I can alter this post to make more sense, or if you spot inconsisties, please let me know and I'll change this post accordingly. Please show this to your friends on GB, get the word out! There might be others who're on the edge about buying ACV, and if this gains momentum, it's possible GB members would buy ACV to join the fun. You never know!

    e2// -- Everything in this post is absolutely applicable to 360, and is in fact easier to coordinate given the 360's popularity for online gaming. I strongly encourage any 360 players to join in on the fun and start taking over the map!

    Whelp, I'm not good at organizing but I'm good at showing up for stuff. I'd definitely be down for something a little more structured. It would be good if we could get up a roster that lists our Member No., PSN ID, and GB ID just so we have an easier time identifying each other while online.

    I'm still trying to get a feel for this game so I don't know what type of core I'd be best in. Currently I'm rocking a medium close-range core for general missions and a heavy quad sniper core for enemy AC missions but I've also made a light core and a tank core that I could take for a spin.

    First things first-- show people you know play ACV this thread and get them involved. We need at least 8 people to be willing to try this if we're going to have alternating waves.

    I'm in Toronto, on the east coast, so I'm usually seeing similar people. Work is going to conspire against me for the next few weeks though, but I usually get on by at least 8:00PM EST.

    I've run some blitz solo just to get cash and team points, but I don't know how efficient that really is. Need some direction there. My loadout right now is just to really get through story missions, so I'm not too sure what my style is. I'm currently using a medium/close range setup

    East coast here - kinnonyee and I have teamed up a couple times. I have a mic and can skype or call or whatever and I'd be up for some larger and more coordinated conflicts. I have a couple friends who have been playing AC for a while and they'll probably be up for joining the team, too. Unfortunately, I'll be traveling a lot for work in the next couple of months. Also, I haven't played enough to have any kind of resources or experience to be able to hold my own, and it'll take me some time to get there.

    My friend who wanted to try out ACV to see how it felt accidentally discovered that you can no-scope with sniper cannons when you're at close range. Now I just need to get better at manually aiming, but it might be too hard to do against PCs.

    @StarvingGamer: I thought you had to get into ready position unless you're using treads? (this may be OT btw)

    @JeevesPleez: I've only tried this with a heavy quad, but basically you can manually aim, lead the target slightly, then press and hold the fire button. If your core is grounded it will transition into ready position and fire almost instantly. I've managed to pull it off semi-consistently against the more aggro cores you face in the order missions.

    Well, I just did some invasion missions, single player, with 9 stars, and got about 15,000 team points. lol. Good thing I'm on the east coast.

    Feel free to organize a conquest mission in the evenings. Like I said, I'll be working. We're almost up to 300,000 team points so really, we should expand our territory.

    I've been playing on and off, but would totally be up for this. East coast and trying to get more action in.
