8-Bit Movie Tie-Ins That Never Were

God bless the goons at Something Awful.

It may just be Friday for you, but for the inventive goons over on the Something Awful forums, it's Photoshop Phriday! For the unfamiliar, SA's not a video-game website per se, but they've been known to dabble in some hilarious, inside-jokey, and regularly tasteless video-game material. This week they've cooked up some menu screens for 8-bit movie tie-in video games that were never actually made. I fully encourage you to check out the full set, though I've attached a few of my faves below.

UPDATE: User Grantastic brings up the fact that this was actually last week's Photoshop Phriday. It doesn't make these any less awesome, but worth noting, regardless!

The Wizard would be insane, lol.

I'd really dig some garbage day rampage with Ricky from silent night deadly night 2. I could imagine strangling some poor helpless girl with a coat hanger in 8-Bit goodness.

Tombstone and Howard The Duck, my god, lol. Very funny stuff. I would have loved to see 8-bit Kurt Russell in Western garb.

Now I really wanna hear an 8-bit digitized "GARBAGE DAY!" voice sample.

Big Trouble In Little China.

Lol at The Wizard. That'd be trippy.

Wow, just when Giant Bomb was starting to look like, you know, a real gaming website, you go and make a link to a cesspool like Something Awful. Real classy, guys.

I could totally see myself buying a Dawn of the Dead, Logan's Run, or Howard the Duck game.  The developers of those shitty Deer Hunter games should cash in on the zombie craze and create a Zombie Hunter game.  I'd buy that for a dollar!

Ah! Creepy. My friends and I totally once discussed how awesome a Tombstone: The Movie: The Game would be!

The Dawn of the Dead one is the best!

Hey!  I didn't know what Ryan was talking about until I actually clicked the images and looked at them up-close!  These are cool!  Big Logan's Run fan here!  SUGGESTION:  If you haven't seen Logan's Run, watch it when you turn 30.  Or give it to someone as a gift on their 30th birthday.

Oh Snap!!! Lemme at that 8-bit Kurt Russell!!!!!

Dawn of the Dead.  That would be a keeper.

There really was a Howard the Duck video game, on the Commodore 64.  It was reportedly terrible.

I would give a kidney to anyone who made a Repo Man game.

Doesn't Kotaku deserve credit for this? I'm pretty sure they found it first...
