My guess is a hook shot / grappling iron - that climbing must be streamlined somehow. They have to be careful it doesn't become a Spidey device though. Part of the challenge was seeing how you tackled a building to get to the top or access a glyph.   

Sounds cool. I like Ezio as a character so I don't mind.  They did hint at another adventure with Ezio in Brotherhood as well.

This is awesome news!! Assassin's Creed is one of my favourite franchises and love the yearly release stuff. Seriously cannot get enough of these games! (Except the first, which I liked but can't go back to at all)

i find it pretty silly that its STILL ezio.

Two problems with your idea.

1. Cristina is dead
2. From the Altair flashback in AC2 it is stated that once a child is conceived the life being relived is passed on.

awesome. i love how much of ezio's life we've seen unfold. no other game or franchise i've played has let me see the detailed progression of one's life over, what, 40 years? this is gonna be a fantastic close to the life of ezio.

Just remembered somthing. Ezio is 48 by the end of Brotherhood. Wonder if they are going to finally age him, or continue on the path they've been taking, where time seems to ignore characters and their ability to jump on things.

I was actually really sad that Brotherhood might have been the end of Ezio's story. I'm really happy to get one more chance with him.

Just when I thought that the Mass Effect 3 delay would give me more time for Skyrim...

This has me excited. Some people may complain that Ezio has been in too many games and that the story needs to go forward, but I enjoy Ezio and I am looking forward to see where this game leads and how Altair will be worked in and what not. 

I really like Ezio and Desmond as characters, looking forward to this!

I'll buy this for just more of that fucking amazing multiplayer.

I'll be honest, I'm disappointed that I'm going to have to wait another year to play as current time Desmond, but seeing as the whole thing is leading up to an event in 2012 it doesn't surprise me at all that they have done this.

i guess when they said brotherhood was the last we'll ever play of italy it didn't mean that it was the last time we play as ezio. i just want a fresh new character that's all i want

As long as the cities contain the vast majority of historical monuments and buildings that they once had, I'll buy a new group of cities every year. I spend more on history books for research, and they're not nearly as fun. Gameplay is often the attraction when it comes to games; but it can also just be the means to an end. If content is strong enough, the gameplay won't matter. The "gameplay" of movies is merely sitting, watching, and pressing play, pause, or fast forward, and movies seem to keep their appeal. The "gameplay" of books is merely sitting, reading, flipping pages, and they've kept their appeal. Rythm games haven't died, their hardware and new discs have died. The content, playing new songs, is still alive and well. They don't require new gameplay, only new content. So keep it comin', I'm interested! 

Ezio's cool and all but can't we just move onto AC3? I would like to move forward a century or two.

They should delay it, AC is a great series but stuff like Gears and Uncharted 3 and the million other titles coming out this holiday season will make people forget about this game. Early 2012 is perfect, but also I soooooooooooooooooo fucking want to play it, see how Ezio finally had a kid and continued the line of assassins.

Too bad we all like and need money, because otherwise this series would be much better if it had more development time. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was impressive with the amount of stuff they could fit into it in such a short time, but some of the missions were utterly terrible, with bad instructions that often told me the opposite of what I had to do. I quit the series on the mission where you had to walk from hay on the floor to another and then send assassin's to kill the guy in the play.

This game will likely be just as good as brotherhood, probably better...but I am still super disappointed that we aren't getting a new location.

i really hope this doesnt end up the series ends up being like kingdom hearts.  i really hope that they make a really cool ancestor in Assassins Creed 3

Assassins creed 3 better be commin soon! You cant milk this product forever Ubi...2 in beetween games i can see...but much more....not really.   (I'm not sayin this game wont be great cause i'm sure it will be.  I'm just sayin they can't go on like this for much longer.)

Ezio's a pretty damn good protagonist, I'm okay sticking with him if they can continue to produce a quality product. And hey, is there anything worse than video game sequels getting numbered too high? This could be called Assassin's Creed 5 and that's around the number before it gets gross.

Have they announced whether this is the same engine or not?  Cause this seems kind of crazy to me.

Part of me wishes they would hold off a little longer before releasing another AC game but the other part of me really doesn't care and can't wait for this! =D I won't be sad to see Ezio go, he's had a much longer run than Altair and the disappearance of Ezio after this coming game in November means that the next game to be released should have a whole new character and...area, place, setting thing! Vuhuu!

Yeah I'm cool with another Assassin's Creed game. Especially if they build up on that multiplayer and some new mechanics are always worth checking it out.

Problem is, I'm pretty sure I already have November booked for a certain Bethesda game and this one will probably have to take a back seat since I can stand to wait a little longer to get my stabbin' on.
