Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught DLC Lands This Month

If it's been awhile since you've dropped a house on a dude or two in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for console, June 22 seems like a proper good day to jump back in. DICE has announced that its Onslaught mode DLC will be available on PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace that afternoon, bringing with it four-player cooperative antics somewhat similar to that of Horde mode in Gears of War 2 (for you non-BF folks). 

There's a Battlefield twist to it, naturally. In Onslaught, you're the aggressor, actively ravaging AI soldiers in an attempt to take over positions and nab control points on four maps already in the game's rotation. It's like Rush mode, except you'll only be able to respawn if a pal is still hanging around, and the AI will keep pressing in waves. Kit changes are GO, too, thanks to in-map drops, and yeah, you'll totally be able to mow down dudes in vehicles--just don't expect to earn experience points in Onslaught that count toward unlocks.

am i missing anything by not playing battlefield games?

I'll only get this if they fix the lag for PS3 (I'm not sure if it's bad on the 360 also).

I don't really care at all for the mode or if it ever comes to PC. I want some new maps and weapons.

Considering the game I spent $50 is almost consistently laggy and disconnecting me from servers I'm hardly going to pay more money for a similarly poor experience.

Really don't know if I am gonna get this DLC as I doubt any of my friends will.

Hopefully it will be free on pc. 

Not interested. I want to play with and against other people, not us vs AI...

I used to love playing 1942(+mods) and Vietnam with bots and a few of my friends. It's somewhat ironic that the cooperative mode for this game is taking so damn long to get to the birthplace of the franchise.

When are the U.S PSN people supposed to get the Specact stuff? 

Cool but I think I have moved on from BC2.

 $10 is fair for this add-on, playing cooperatively against bots can be fun (Uncharted 2 did it really well), and I think Onslaught has potential. 
 
Not buying right away though....I'll get it if/when they fix the lag.

Um, it's on the PSN store now....has been for weeks. "

Depends on the servers you get into. I have to join/quit at least a dozen games before I can get into one that isn't warping me through wall, sliding me through stairs, and not reloading or switching weapons when I hit the buttons. BTW, I'm on PSN, but the problem seems to be rampant, judging by the EA forums.  Weird thing is that the first two months of the game, I never had any lag at all. But the past few weeks it's been nearly constant. I just hope EA can sort it out. "

 I really can't see myself paying the 800 MSP for this DLC.  This should really be a part of the VIP Pass program or whatever it's called.  The game would benefit much more from new maps than any cooperative mode.

heheheh.....yeah, RDR stole me away from BC2 for awhile. But I keep playing it every few days. I seriously can't get enough, I love BC2. "

FIX THE LAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem with onslaught is that there is no left 4 dead "director" or anything. The enemies spawn at the same spot and do the same things. (since your time goes up on the leaderboards, all the variables need to be controlled, so you will see no variety, only difficulty changes. 
 
Seriously EA, bring some content that you know battlefield fans will want: more maps.

Other than having dropped houses on dudes almost every day since release, yeah - I'm looking forward to Onslaught too.

Kit shortcuts?  I'm assuming this means unlock everything in the category?  How many people really haven't unlocked everything yet?  

i think the kit unlock thing is a good idea, if you're starting playing now, you're going to have a very unenjoyable experience seeing everyone is gonna have a lot more stuff to use than you
