It'd be cool if you could choose avatars and stages like the Ed Sullivan Show, Sgt. Pepper's uniforms (of course), Rishikesh period stuff, etc.

I thought they were making a completely new game.. Shacknews and Kotaku article. Shack explicitly stating that "The studio clarified that this will not be a Rock Band-branded game". Maybe you realize this, but when you say "Rock Band" and "Rock Band Beatles" five times throughout the article...

For what it's worth, I've read several times on other sites that this technically has nothing to do with Rock Band, it's a totally separate game that will not be branded as a Rock Band game.

They obviously won't talk about possible Beatles-based DLC for Rock Band, which I could see going both ways, but yeah this isn't specifically related to Rock Band just yet

The Article says it won't be a Rock Band game, however with the Beatles, it'd be the only guitar based game I would buy.

I am not interested in standalone games dedicated to one band. I accept the AC/DC thing because you can just rip those songs and play them on Rock Band 2, but this doesn't do anything for me. I'll pass.

Hope it doesn't end up a huge ripoff like the AC/DC thing. Get the impression it won't be though.

Just kidding, but seriously, I couldn't name a beatles song if I tried (the only thing I know is the whole yellow submarine thing because they made us watch in school, which was lame). So i guess this announcement isn't for me...

This could have been just big a DLC pack for Rock Band 2. But now that they want to make a game out of this, I seriously hope that if it's really like Rock Band they don't sell it as a bundle with the instruments. Or at least they souldn't make new instruments for this game. Let's see where this goes.

This is totally impossible. I thought I would never live to see the day something like this would happen. If this game emerges, I think I might actually die of excitement. If it comes out, I want to have every single Beatles song in there (though naturally this actually is impossible). Everything from Get Back all the way to Rain and Don't Let Me Down. Come Together!

Dude, they cram this game full of Beatle's tracks, I mean like a hundred plus songs and I'll have no choice but to finally breakdown and buy a rythm game. They do this right and everyone and their grandmother is going to want this game. And Ryan is right about the Yellow Submarine art style needing to be in there, hell, they need to have themes from every album and every iconic performance. They do that and the world won't have choice whether to buy this or not. By the way, does Michael Jackson still own their early stuff? I know Paul McCartney was bidding on it for a while, but I don't know if he ever got it. It would be a shame if songs like Seventeen (I believe that's the title), from their early years, were excluded because of ownership issues.

As long as I can sing and play some classics with my elders I will be delighted with the game, and I assume the Harmonix team will have a lot of support from Apple Corps, after all we're talking of the most successful IP in the whole music history.

I wonder, will this be a trend that other legendary bands will follow? Will we be able to play a Pink Floyd interactive experience? Will Atlantic records have second thoughts about the videogame market? I certainly hope so.

Good one for Harmonix! This title could be the most important piece of software that we'll see next year, cultural and artistically speaking.

Anything with the tag "The Beatles" sells like gold whether it's good or bad.
I will just wait till the end of time until Led Zeppelin finally agree to give rights of their songs for a Rock Band/Guitar Hero game.

that's awesome that they're making a Beatles game, best band of all time (doesn't mean they have to be your favorite, my fav is The Who but The Beatles have the most talent).  I think that they should make it dlc as well, cause i don't wanna shlep to a store to buy this, u kno?  Y not make it dlc???
