BioShock PS3 "Challenge Room" DLC Media, Date Released

The PlayStation 3-exclusive content is coming in two weeks. Check out this video walkthrough in the meantime.

2K Marin is slaving away on BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams, but PlayStation 3 owners are still getting their feet wet in Rapture with the recent release of the original game on the Sony platform. To sweeten the year-late release, 2K is readying its PS3-exclusive "Challenge Room" pack and has announced a release date of November 20th. That's in two weeks, in case you have trouble with calendars or math.

The company put out some screens and a new video walkthrough narrated by producer Melissa Miller. I ask that you view them.

That artwork makes a pretty splendid desktop wallpaper, actually. I made a 1680x1050 version you can grab if you like. (Do the old right-click-Save-As if you want it for your very own.)

I got to play a bit of the Challenge Room pack today, and will be back with some impressions on Friday. Stay tuned for that.

Probably true but it doesn't change the fact that I was one of the people who was out there day one to play this game, I was one of the people who delt with all the limited edition broken Big Daddy crap, I was one of the people who watched all of Ken Levine's interviews in the months leading up to release, now it seems like a year later they just don't care.  You're right it isn't uncommon for companies to do simular things, but that doesn't take away the frustration.  It only hurts more because of how much I loved BioShock.

@ Crono
I don't think they need any more incentive to play BioShock other than just to play BioShock.  Besides this rerelease was aimed at people who only have a PS3 therefore it isn't going to take away from those sales at all if they released this DLC on both 360 and PS3.  I could understand it a little more if the game released on both platforms at the same time(like GTA4) but it didn't, odds are that everybody with both a 360 and PS3 already bought or played the game a year ago on the 360.  Now it is like they made all this bonus content and just don't care to release it on the 360...I'd even pay for it.  Whatever, I guess there are plenty of other games to play now anyway.

Is this coming to the PC? I don't want to spend $70 for 3 challenge rooms.  It looks pretty sweet tho.

Looks like good content. I already have the 360 version and I don't think this justifies buying it on the PS3. I think I'll wait to see if this gets released on the 360.

"They obviously got paid more by Sony to give them exclusives. "

Don't be dull dude. What likely happened is 2K saw this as a chance to capitalize on Bioshock, again, on a platform that had not (when the original satement was made months ago) yet seen a release. This content will show up on PC/360 later, but right now 2K probably wants to sell as many PS3 copies as possible and this "exclusive" DLC will help with that. So just site tight.

@Hatking

You're holding this against them?  This is incentive for PS3 players to get a game that is over a year old on every other system.

@Hatking : don't be an idiot.  They obviously got paid more by Sony to give them exclusives.  It's not like Microsoft hasn't done it before (GTA 4 for example)

So basically they just abandoned the original fanbase on the 360 huh?  Brilliant market, no seriously, because now I know it was a mistake to buy this game the day it came out and that had I waited a year I would have gotten more for my money.  Thanks 2K, you just lost a day one sale on BioShock 2.

Ugh. She used the work "experience"  three times. That's three times too many.
