Bizarre Creations' Blur Still Coming Out In 2009

Remain calm; there are in fact still games coming out this year.

With even the mighty Activision jumping on the bandwagon of 2009's hottest trend, Releasing Your 2009 Games In 2010, some people were wondering what might be going on with Bizarre Creations' new racer Blur. I've seen some message board chatter about the fate of the game's release date, what with higher profile games like StarCraft II sliding into next year.

There hasn't been a lot of buzz or info floating around about Blur for the last few weeks, since its appearance at E3, but Shacknews did notice in a company conference call that the game is in fact still slated for a November release date. While we're talking about Blur, retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, and GameCrazy are now taking part in 2009's crappiest trend, Exclusive Bonus Game Content When You Pay Us For The Game Early. Hit up the Shack story for that list.

And if you've forgotten what Blur looks like, here's a reminder!

They could have used some licensing on it.
"Star Wars: Hot Wheels: Racing Battle"

I threw the double colon in there to be safe.

Having been on a PGR kick recently, I'm actually pretty excited about this game.  It's probably about 6th or 7th on my list of "Games that I might buy this fall."

I'm realy not getting the negative comments on this one. Yes its not a realistic racer, not every car game has to be. I'm pretty exited about this one it looks really fun and so far Bizarre Creations have shown themselves to be a good developer when it comes to having fun with cars. It could turn out to be a terrible game but for now I'm going to say it looks really fun.

Just to counteract some of the negativity in these comments, I think it looks cool and it going to be a lot of fun. Not every racer has to worship at the altar of realism and minute technicality. If its just Wipeout with real cars and physics enabled powerups, it'll be worth checking out. There's space enough in the market for everyone to get their motor-related kicks.

What is it with British developers and arcade racers?

For that matter, what's with American developers and FPSes?

Or Russian developers and extremely strange and buggy PC games?

U know I see a lot of dudes talking about Gt5 coming out this year but isnt it a little late to be announcing a game's release date to be this year? I know Tokyo Game Show but I mean I cant wrap my head around them announcing the release date of a huge blockbuster game and then coming out 2-3 months later...

Their is a part about 4/5 of the way through that trailer where this red sports car gets hit with an electric thing and spins out, spending him from first place to seemingly last. That is the part which destroyed any interest in this game I might have had because I knew that if I was that red car I would be raging right about then.

Perhaps it will be good, in fact I hope it will be, but weapons in racers adds a random luck element which just doesn't gel right with me.

That song fit surprisingly well, good choice on their part.  Seems like the game could be fun, too.

Yup, I'd forgotten all about Blur. Rewatching the trailer, I'm reminded just why I forgot about it.

I'll forget about it again in half an hour. Totally unmemorable looking game.

I would have rather Bizarre Creations make PGR 5. Im not a fan of car combat games so this doesn't really appeal to me. I hope that they move on from this game and make PGR 5 rather than Blur 2

Any game that tries to sell you by naming/demonstrating available power-ups has some serious soul searching to do.

This game looks neat. I like Bizarre Creations and all of their racers so far have been a hit. I don't know if the "Mario Kart" vibe is going to work properly but I'll give it a shot.

I mistakenly chose Geography at GCSE, and the dude I used to sit next to sang that song to me nearly every lesson without fail, always made me giggle.

And also it looks like it's just taken Midnight club further.
