Borderlands Steam Owners Get First Dibs On Duke Demo Too

No word if exclusive items are part of the package, but always bet on Duke. I didn't do that right, did I?

It appears as if membership to the "Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club" isn't exclusive to owners of Borderlands Game of the Year edition. Owners of the Steam version of Borderlands have been auto-enrolled into the elite club without even a whisper from 2K Games or developer Gearbox Software. A product code and a listing have just simply appeared in owners' Borderlands CD keys, according to a recent Kotaku report

The club, which was announced earlier last week by 2K Games, is giving members first access to an eventual Duke Nukem Forever demo. In the reveal materials it was also mentioned that card carrying members would also receive exclusive access to items in Duke Nukem Forever proper, but what these items are, or even when the DNF demo is slated to hit, are unknown at the moment. Imagine that.

Presumably, Borderlands Steam owners will miss out on one thing when it comes to the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club: a physical certificate. Destructoid EIC Nick Chester recently tweeted a picture of said certificate, which, of course, features a catchphrase and a smug-looking Duke

Borderlands GOTY is shipping now, and as we've previously reported, ships with all the DLC that has been released for the game. It's a cool deal for a great game, provided you don't already own a copy of Borderlands and a smattering of DLC for it.
