Brace Yourself: Activision Will Announce the Next Call of Duty on May 1

In other news: Water is wet.

Call of Duty 4 changed shooters back in 2006 all by itself. It's rather poetic that the Call of Duty series is evidently going to be the decline of that very same genre. People are, and will, get sick of it and the entire genre will feel the effects because everybody hopped aboard the failtrain and put all their creative eggs in a single bandwagon. ActiVi$on has beat that horse almost dry. They might still sell copies, but I think it's more of an obligation for people to buy it instead of actually enjoying the games now.

Thing that really showed this to me was actual real life friends (shocking I know, I have friends) saying that they're not going to buy any of the future games because they're, "Getting sick of it. It's the same old shit every year with nothing new. Even the problems are the fucking same." Anybody can bitch on the internet, but when actual people are saying things face to face it's totally different.

I gave up on this franchise after the borefest that was Black Ops, and I don't trust Activision to do anything new or innovative. I think I'll skip this one just like 3, unless they do something really dramatic to mix things up.

The COD release cycle is sort of comforting in its regularity. Like the sound of an oscillating fan.

it would be cool if they went back to the like, civil war/ late 19th century, but that won't happen. I hated MW3 and black ops got boring really fast, they need something spicy....Cajun spicy

seriously. I am so sick of call of duty. There are too many good games coming out to focus on that game. Diablo 3 is going to take up so much of my time its ridiculous. If call of duty outsells its previous game again I Have no faith in the gaming community at large.

An announcement about an announcement.

For the past two iterations I have gone to redbox, finishing the game's single player in a night or two, and then returning it the next day to the tune of 4 dollars. Then I just go back to playing MW2 multiplayer. How is everyone not doing this?

I thought we knew about this already.

I really like Black Ops I hope is the sequel to that.

I miss the Lightweight perk. I feel like I never see anyone using LMGs anymore because of that. I mostly play Domination and LMG + no lightweight = taking forever to get to the points.

Would be surprised by this but nope, think I'll just watch the gaming news sites instead to see the news then watch a rather dull basketball game (after playing it pre-high school it's just plain boring for a sport to me). Now if it went completely off the rails (ie. throwing stuff from Shadows of the Damned & Bulletstorm in it, to just put it way over the top) then maybe I'll have more than a casual interest in playing it.

My guess is it will be a-lot like the past two Call of Duty games. It would be nice to see another Black Ops. I sure loved playing that game.

I also want to point out that I haven't been excited about a Call Of Duty game for several years. They milked that franchise dry a long time ago.

I don't know why, but I just can't feel my way into enjoying it anymore like you mentioned. I wanted to like MW3, it probably would be the best version if it was released a long time ago.
