Capcom And Namco Team Up For Crossover Fighting Games

For me this is just SF vs yoshimitsu. (he better be in it) 

Street Fighter's characters have been really prominent recently -- two Street Fighter IVs, Marvel vs. Capcom, and now two more with Tekken? People might disagree with me, but I feel Capcom are getting close to what Activision have been doing to Guitar Hero. That's not to say I'm not interested, because I am a little, but...

I am totally interested in both of these.

Read the article. Namco is making one using the Tekken 6 engine, and Capcom is making one using the SSFIV engine. "

Why not Street Fighter x Mortal Kombat? That could all work in one game.

People already have Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.  I think this is a chance to do something new and see a crossover between two of the biggest franchises.  It ain't the Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter crossover that fuels nerd boners but I'm certainly interested in how good it is.  Man if they do a good job of delivering it could along with MK9 solidify fighting games again.  Really I'm most interested in a game finally tackling the opposite characters in respective game's engine problem or actually mashing two different games in a balanced manner.

It's an interesting experiment.  I think I'm more curious about Namco's game than the Capcom version, simply because I'm more of a Tekken/Soul Calibur fan.

Besides all of the fucking retards posting in this thread, I am definitely interested in how these games are going to play and how the characters are going to handle. Imagining Guile as a Tekken version is just... nuts. Likewise, imagining Brian Fury as a Street Fighter version is just... wat.

Seems like an awesome crossover for those who don't like the speed and insanity of MVC3. Capcom x Tales would be interesting...

What there is gonna to be 2 games with different engines? but the same basic assets.

After reading the comments hear I just want to state a few things that might change some peoples minds.
 
When you're judging a fighting game, in my opinion, you should judge it on the fighting system and push the extra features (I'm looking at you, Tekken 6 scenario campaign) to the side. Since Tekken 5, the Tekken games have been improving upon the Tekken 3 formula, that high point you keep talking about? The Tekken 6 fighting engine is better, improved over the Tekken 3 engine. Tekken 4, admittedly, kinda sucked and was weird, but when they made 5 they threw the stuff out that didn't work well and improved upon the Tekken 3 formula instead.
I just find pointless Tekken hate annoying, so I was hoping to try and clear that up a little, I'm sure many of you will still hate Tekken though, but hey, I tried.
 
As for why they aren't making Street Fighter X Mortal Kombat instead... umm, I'm pretty sure the Mortal Kombat team is busy working on the new, awesome looking Mortal Kombat game. Did you guys forget about that or something? It would be ridiculous to be working on both the new Mortal Kombat and a crossover game at the same time, and if they did attempt to, both games would most likely suffer for it.
 
Anyway as for my own opinion, I am STOKED about this. I'll definitely pick up the Tekken version, and most likely give the Street Fighter version a go too. I've been wanting to get into Street Fighter for a while now, and this is the perfect thing to get me into it.
 
Also, did Kazuya sprout wings in that trailer? Does this mark the return of Devil Kazuya? That would be pretty sweet.

Basically,
Street Fighter X Tekken will play like Street Fighter
Tekken X Street Fighter will play like Tekken
tbh, I WANT TO PLAY BOTH, and see SF characters tekken style and vice versa =(

I wonder if the costume DLC from Super and the original get carried over to this.
Also does  this  mean the rumored new DLC characters for Super was just a case of misinterpretation? And that leaked screen shot of the character roster was referring to this game?

I am intrigued. Interested in seeing what the main differences will be. However, I am quite more excited about Capcom's version to be honest.

Maybe since Tekken is using 3d SF characters, we'll finally see the return of Skullomania.

Third Striiike!  All I really want is CvS3.

This is all well and good but with the new Marvel vs Capcom game on the way too I get the feeling Capcom is going a little overboard. With the time and money they are putting into these VS spin offs they could at least bring Darkstalkers up to date or some other highly anticipated Capcom series back from the dead.
 
Then again they did try with Bionic Commando and look how well that turned out. I guess this is Capcom's way of playing it safe, so I suppose it's not THAT bad.

Finally, it has happened. I'm kind of stoked about the 2vs2 choice, because it would make the game feel kind of like Tekken Tag Tournament (one of the series' best games).

Please bring Namco X Capcom to the US. That game is awesome. Sure it's not a fighting game, but come on.

I'm interested but I am likely to only get the Street Fighter X Tekken version. I haven't been real keen on a Tekken game in a long while.
