He might not be working on God of War III, but that won't stop David Jaffe from getting all frothy about it.
This is apropos of nothing, but I wish someone would commission Al Jaffee to draw Kratos.No high-profile game designer has fully embraced this whole blogging thing with as deep a commitment as David Jaffe. Rather than just use it as a marketing platform (though he does that pretty cleverly as well,) Jaffe will just ramble on about the relative merits of the games he's playing, the music he's listening to, the movies he's looking forward to--you know whatevs--usually while employing the interpretive art of cursing with a teenaged zeal. Yesterday was no exception, though after sharing his thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 4 and Gears of War 2, and lamenting the organizational deficiencies of VGXPO, Jaffe casually mentioned that he stopped by Sony's Studio Santa Monica to see how God of War III was coming along. While he revealed no new details about the game itself, he did betray a certain dignified, restrained enthusiasm for what he saw. And I quote:
a- HOLY HOLY HOLY FUCKING HELL!!!!
b- I thought GEARS OF WARS 2 looked about as good as a next-gen game could look....and that game is currently- and will probably remain- my game of the year. And hell, I think I actually get to vote on that kind of stuff in some circles :) And unless I get blown away by POP or something else I missed, GEARS 2 is the SHIT....this year. Dudes and dudettes, fucking WAIT till you see the amazing graphics...just fucking wait.
Jaffe's perspective on the whole God of War franchise is indelibly colored by his involvement in its creation, and his all-enthusiasm/no-substance extolment is the dictionary definition of hype, but he'll have none of the fanboy finger-pointing/name-calling!

You'll get banned from the forums with language like that, Mister Jaffe! It's hard for me not to be a Doubting Thomas about this superlative-filled account of God of War III, though there's a guilelessness here that makes me think he's being completely sincere. Either way, I think you can safely translate Jaffe's statements to mean "God of War III seems to be coming along nicely."
HIs comments were kind of immature and unnecessary but whatever. It's his blog he can say anything he wants. We'll just have to wait and see if GOW III looks as good as he says it does.

WOW!! Such a tease. I mean just when we thought the God of War 3 talk was over Jaffe of course puts it right on top. Man I can't wait to see what it looks like. Crosses fingers for GDC to show some in game footage.
there is only one thing to do and that thing is Wait until a new video comes out..... or maybe we can get the dude from "heroes" to go to the future and check it out. but then, we'll have to wait for him to comeback and tell us ....... man everything is so confusing.
Maybe they showed him a CGI movie like they did for Killzone 2. And why is he focusing so much on looks? How about how much better it will play than the first 3? Asshole, go back and do Twisted Metal. Speaking of which, Twisted Metal, fucking bring that shit back.

I know it sounds like he is just hyping the game, but there have been others who have commented on GOW 3 looking freaking amazing, personally I can't wait to get this game. There is a rumor about a PS3 price drop in March, so I would not be surprised if that is when a demo for GOW 3 comes out, or we start getting some real info on the game. Either way, I don't own a PS3 now, but I will buy one to play this game. For all of you who don't know, this game is the real deal and if you are a fan of games you have to play the GOW series.
this game will reignite the action genre. what have we had this generation really?? mediocre DMC4? and then Ninja Gaiden Sigma and 2, both of which are cool but really don't have widespread appeal. GOW3 is going to be outstanding, super kickass, and incredibly entertaining.
I need this game to be awesome... GOW is a piece of software that embodies everything gaming is to me! So it'd better be done right, graphics aren't as important as Jaffe's stressing it, all I want is the gameplay to be awesome!
How played out are Quick Time Events going to be by the time this game arrives? Good thing the combat gameplay itself has been solid, if not spectacular, thus far in the series.

Haha than you'll be missing out won't you. Say what you like about him and his personality (who are we to criticise others anyway?) but his credentials speak for themselves.
From what I've seen of him, I quite like David Jaffe. Perhaps he can be a bit of a twit, but endearingly so. It's nice to see that he's not being all possessive and bitter about his creation being continued by someone else, if nothing else. Not that there was a nasty split or anything, but you know. Some people can be funny about that sort of thing.
I don't think it's really news that God of War 3 is looking good. Though there has been a different director for all of the console games, no doubt the bulk of the core team has stayed intact.
As long as the gameplay is as tight as all the other iterations, God of War 3 is the game I'll buy a PS3 for. If the game is playable and looking good, that makes it seem like a 2009 release is very much possible. That'd be a nice surprise considering I thought it was pretty much a lock that 2010 would be when it drops.
I don't know what I'm gonna do when we see God of War 3 in action. The ones on PS2 looked amazing. It's hard to believe what the 3rd one will look like
Well hope this doesn't go all "Killxone E3 trailer" on our asses. Never relly got into God of War, thought it was too easy and abit boring. Probebly because I had playrd Ninja Gaiden to death before GoW and I was burned out on the mythology since i wrote a 30 something page paper for school like less then a year before the game. Also am pretty burned out on that type of games whit Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Devil May Cry 4 not being all that different though NG2 still beaing fucked up hard.
I've read enough of his blogs to know that if Jaffe doesn't like something he'll say it. For him to get ridiculously excited about God of War III actually means that he is excited about the game and isn't some marketing ploy to get us to buy a crap game.
well conscidering what the god of war guys pulled of with the first two on the ps2 (those games were a graphical masterpieces concidering they were ps2 games and everyone who says diffrently is a damn fool) i thnk there's prob some thrut in what jaffe's saying , also he actually seems like a sincere enough guy that he would have said so if he thought the game looked like crap.can't wait till this comes out
