Devolver Digital Offers Holiday Wishes

And a Serious Sam HD screenshot is along for the ride.

Hey guys. Happy Bastille Day. But don't take it from me, take it from the new venture by Mike Wilson and Harry Miller, Devolver Digital, which just sent us this:

As someone who has no idea what Bastille Day is all about (other than a very poor excuse to drink on a Tuesday), I'm just going to say that from here on out, we should all celebrate it by looking at screenshots of a new Serious Sam game. In this case, Serious Sam: The First Encounter HD, which Devolver will be publishing, will do quite nicely. Jeff Gerstmann on Google+

Ha, I think Bastille Day is a French holiday? About the storming of the bastille which was the main thing that sparked the French Revoutlion (if memory from history class serves)?

Regardless, we get screenshots, SO HAPPY BASTILLE DAY EVERYONE!

Do you even need a excuse to drink on Tuesday?

Does it have anything to do with the band Rush?

Nothing celebrates the most infamous use of the guillotine in history more than the headless zombies of Serious Sam.  Viva la Revolution!

It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known.

Independence Day in France. More a excuse to drink on a Tuesday than anything else really... (apart from seeing the French fail to win a stage in TdF in Bastille Day)

Oh these guys. Heh.

i cannot WAIT for the serious sam HD release.  my friends and i religiously play the PC games like at least once or twice a year on co-op.  By far the most fun i've ever had in a co-op game is in serious sam.

Viva la Revolucion is Spanish; it's Vive la Revolution in French.

This post had made me install and play Serious Sam - the First Encounter... Now i'm playing PC again for the first time in years..!

Independence from the absolute monarchy that reigned France for many years. The most symbolic moment of the French Revolution was the Storming of the Bastille. On the 14 of July 1789 the morning sun lighted the people through streets and alleys in bound of blood and reven.. no. I'm not going to tell the story.
