DLC-Laden Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition Hitting Shelves In October

Here's one way to snag more DLC than you can shake a broadsword at.

Later this October, prospective owners of Dragon Age: Origins won't have to stare slack-jawed at the mound of downloadable content that has been piling up since the game's initial release in 2009. A new, all content-inclusive version of the title dubbed Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition is hitting on the 26th across the Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC for the low, low price of $60.

Putting the price of Ultimate Edition in perspective, the game's official website is saying that the total dollar amount of all the DLC to date, including the game's retail and downloadable expansion Dragon Age: Origins -- Awakening, combined is a staggering $114. So, yeah, you'll be saving a few bucks if you decide to grab this as opposed to a used copy--even one with a Shale voucher still stuck inside it.

== TEASER ==To be crystal clear, Ultimate Edition will include even the very recently released Witch Hunt DLC, which I've been led to believe finally answers all those questions you might have had about what Morrigan after she [spoilers] or you [spoils spoiler]. Witch Hunt will, of course, be joined by The Stone Prisoner (!), Return to Ostagar, Leliana's Song, Warden's Keep, The Darkspawn Chronicles, The Golems of Amgarrak, and Dragon Age: Origins -- Awakening on the disc.

In other news, I've just realized I've spent almost 200 bucks on Dragon Age: Origins. I need to find a place to bury my head for a second. Please take a gander at these hot new images while I'm gone.

A great deal, though most of the singular DLC packs are terrible. Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak and Witchhunt are just ew.

Not all of those DLC packs are winners, but Awakenings and The Stone Prisoner are really the ones you want anyways, and make it well worth the price.

In true Dragon Age tradition they release a trailer with music that makes it sound like it's an action game and not a hardcore RPG :P

Is the DLC/expansion in the form of vouchers or on the disc?

I really liked this series until they became so money-grubbing
to produce cheezy DLC.  I like my achievements but I don't
want to put up with paying & paying all the time & the ROI
for their DLC is awful.  You finish it & feel that it was a rip-off.

I like this game, a lot....But this trailer it's the most cringe inducing thing I've seen in a while.   It's close to that feeling you get the first time you see "The Ring" girl climbing out of the well.

Just what I've been waiting to see come down the pike.  I wasn't sure Awakening would be included.  But since it is I think I'll finally take the plunge down that rabbit hole.

I literally said "What the fuck is this?" out loud while watching that trailer. BioWare really has no idea how to market this game at all.

I think the 360 version will be on 2 discs like Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3. The thing with the 360 version is people will be able to just buy 1 copy and then pass the 2nd disc (DLC disc) for others to install the DLCs without buying them. This is what happened with Mass Effect and Fallout 3.

I guessing sometime next year, maybe around the same time, they'll do the same with Mass Effect 2.

Definitely going to pick this up in the next couple of months.  Saving 114 bucks is totally worth it, even if some of the DLC is not good, according to people who have played it.

Can I have my 30 dollars back that I paid for awakening?  Really EA/Bioware why don't you just make a video of you flipping the bird to your early buyers?  This actually encourages people to stop buying your games at release because odds are you will do this again.

If I had waited for this Ultimate Edition to come out, I would have been robbed of the one good thing Dragon Age offered: playing through the main campaign on the original difficulty.  EA nerfed the difficulty of Dragon Age so much since release, the value of all the DLC went in the toilet.  I beat Awakenings without a healer in my party.  In Witch Hunt, desperate for a challenge, I cranked the difficulty up to Nightmare and yet my warrior was still an invincible, one man army.

The only way I would pick this up is if they finally fixed the saved game corruption problems for the XBox version. I nearly beat that game three times but the data kept getting ruined when I neared the end

I already have the game and all the DLC and I still play the game almost a year later. I won't be picking this up because as much as I love Dragon Age, I don't need two copies of everything.
