Speaking to Joystiq, ESA president Mike Gallagher opened up a bit about the assocation's plans for E3 2009. There had been some info flying around (which we talked about on the podcast this week) claiming that there could be two public days tacked on to the end of the show.

But here we are, a day later, and it sounds like the show is getting bigger, but sticking to its standard trade-only format. Take this segment of the interview, for example!

Joystiq: Is it out of the realm of possibility that we'll still see public dates announced later?

MG: I wouldn't expect that.

That's not a no, people!!!!1111 But seriously, this is probably for the best. E3 is having trouble these days competing with the ghost of past E3. Trying to take on that specter while simultaneously taking on stuff like E for All and the Penny Arcade Expo is probably more trouble than it's worth.
