E3 2013: Here's A Coverage Wrap-Up

Just in case you missed anything, here's pretty much all our original coverage from the last week.

If this is an accurate representation of next-gen gaming, I will be...pleased.

Thanks for tuning in for E3 coverage this week, everybody. The crew is taking a bit of a break today, so I wanted to give you an overview of the content that went up last week, just in case you happened to miss any of it.

YESSSS! I was a little sad all the GB videos got lost in the torrent of all the E3 trailers that were posted. Now they are all here for me to click on.

@rorie: Watch_Dogs: Your weapon is choice in Ubiosoft's upcoming hackathon. Not sure if that's some joke and I'm out of the loop or you just misspelled Ubisoft.

@rorie

this is kinda off topic, but, is there a mobile site in the works? cause the whisky media mobile sites were tops while the site downsized when viewed in mobile is poos

Looking forward to the E3 Day Three video I assume is coming. Vinny and Drew's videos have been a joy to watch.

Great coverage, all. Any intention to let the masses know what happened with the robbery?

If this is an accurate representation of next-gen gaming

Since it's a Ubisoft game, and looked far better than anything else out there, and there was no playable demo... I'm saying no.

From which game is that image?

Posted by GalacticPunt

Damn, this is thorough. Absolutely everything but the Daily Dark Souls seems to be linked here! Suppose that was out of modesty.

Tom Clancy's The Division. I'm skeptical about that demo, but I'm really hoping the game looks that good.

Thanks. I hadn't seen The Division's trailer yet, but that does look pretty. Not nearly as good as that image suggests, but still really nice. Why the skepticism?

Mostly because we've all seen plenty of trailers/demos that looked amazing before but wound up being somewhat less impressive when the game actually shipped. I don't think that footage was being played live, so I'm assuming that it was pretty heavily touched up/manipulated, especially since the game might apparently be a late 2014 release. I'd be pleased to be wrong, though. It does look pretty great.

Releasing target renders as gameplay is nothing new for Ubi.

Ah, yes, sure. I've never been much of trailer or demo watcher, but I see your point. That's a shameful practice. That said, though, even if this looks slightly worse but plays as it does, it is still impressive. And we all know that the games will become better and prettier over the years of the console cycle, so if a slightly less pretty version of this is the beginning of the cycle, I'm still excited. Hell, I'm excited anyway!

@zatoichi_sanjuro: Never played it, but I see what you mean. Thanks!

Thank you for this. Work kept me busy last week and I couldn't follow most of this as it happened. Having the links grouped and summarized is really helpful.

Posted by Rorie

@sweetz: Welcome! Meant to do it on Saturday or Sunday, but weekend fun wound up getting in the way.

@rorie: I don't know how you would feel, but you should link the video of the nightly streams that were uploaded to Baagfull's youtube page. Unless I'm the only person in the world being affected by it the twitch archives are still unwatchable unless you can stream super HD video. Which I know a lot of people can't.

Thanks!

Thanks so much, Rorie (et al). Trying to sort out the news feed the last week was like trying to drink from a firehose. I don't pay GB for game trailers so I'm very happy to be able to find everything in one place so I know what to watch/listen/read.

Thanks for putting this together, was getting a bit hard to find all the content among the flood of trailers. :)

Lockdown song should be looping in this page for the full E3 experience.

I think if there's one thing we can all agree on about this E3, it's that it was A LOCK DOWN BABY

TO DRIVE ME CRAZY

AIN'T GONNA SAVE ME

YOUR LOVE HAS GOT ME DOIN' TIME

YOU'RE MY ATTORNEY

MY JUDGE AND JURY

I'M FEELIN' GUILTY

SO LOCK ME UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY

Thanks for the round up, Rorie! Have one on me:

The content was sparse but very personal in nature. This is the most important thing about GB coverage. I hope the dicks who stole the equipment fell off a bridge during the getaway.

Edited by Winternet

There isn't an E3 Day 3 video, unfortunately. The rest is top notch quality.

Posted by davidjohnkeen

This wrap up is a great idea Rorie. I wonder if it would be worth exploring something similar for the end of a normal week. I don't always get to visit the site as often as I'd like, so having a summary like this would be a great help in keeping up with new content.

Edited by soupbones

Great idea Rorie - I missed some of this content.

It's been a fantastic E3, and the coverage from you guys has been top-notch. Which is doubly fantastic when you consider the awful problems you ran into day one. Let's hope nothing like that ever happens again, and I'm so glad you guys managed to not just recover, but do so in spectacular fashion.

Highlight for me has to be Adam's appearance on the Day 3 video (happens around the 3hr 18min mark). Pulling out the PS4 was such a great move.
