Fallout: New Vegas 'Dead Money' DLC Detailed And Dated

New terrain, new enemies, and new choices await in New Vegas' first bit of paid DLC.

Bethesda is now talking about the first bit of Fallout: New Vegas content, an "exclusive" downloadable joint for the Xbox 360. Dead Money, as it's called, will have you become the victim of a "raw deal" in which your life is threatened. After said deal goes down, you and three other "captured" Wasteland rovers will be asked (or forced) to discover the "legendary treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino" for an unspecified reason.

If the name of the target didn't already tip you off, this content will feature new areas and terrain, as well as new enemies and moral choices, according to Bethesda in a press release this morning.

Dead Money will make its exclusive debut on Xbox Live this December 21. It'll be priced at 800 Microsoft Points. Here's what Bethesda VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines has to say about this content:

"We’re pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money,” Hines said in a statement. "The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas.”

Sounds fun, though similar to the beginning of Fallout: New Vegas. Hopefully, come December 21, I'll actually be in a position to play this DLC. Those Brotherhood of Steel missions are a slog, eh?

Just finally finishing the last of those myself.  But I still haven't even walked into the strip.  Been too busy clearing out side quests.

So I take it your only fans are Xbox 360 players? NO!!! You don't give a shit about fans. You give a crap about the money that Microsoft is paying you.  You don't understand how pissed off I am about these companies saying their all about the fans when clearly all they care is the goddamn money they get from Microsoft. So fuck you Bethesda, fuck you. "
you mean put it on the pc where they won't be able to charge for it because within a few months someone will have made a mod or modded it to be free? "
Seriously.  PC owners should realize that in addition to the DLC content that we get on 360, you get player-made mods that we will NEVER see.  So let's not talk about exclusivity.

Just like one of the comments someone mentioned earlier, mod sites don't allow copyright or pirated material on their site. Also, blame Microsoft for locking their console. Don't blame us PC gamers for something we've had for years. Trust me, consoles have the capabilities to allow mods. Apparently they just don't want to support the indie world.

@ch13696: I know where you're coming from, I mean I'm not trying to be all PC vs Console.  I used to prefer my games like this on PC (example, Elder Scrolls)... but because of awesome player-made mods, I never completed the games.  So I started getting them on console so I'd actually play the game as the company released it.  It's still disappointing sometimes though to hear about some awesome mod for a game that we can only hope the developer will pick up for the console version.

I understand that. In a way the mods distracting you away from the actual game. However, when was the last time you ever heard of a developer supporting mods? Well, except for DotA. Unfortunately we won't see that on console. Hopefully more and more developers will recognize mods like DotA and start looking into them.

I can't wait for Fallout: New Vegas to not be broken, then for the rest of these DLC packs to come out. Then for the GOTY edition to come out with all of those DLC packs, at the same price as the original broken game shipped at so that I can justify buying it and actually start playing it.

Im further along than that, but I have hit the wall somewhat myself.  I started playing Singularity and finished it.  Now I bought StarCraft II and installed it....if I start I might never finish FNV.

My thoughts exactly.  I am sure they will fix the ending that let's you continue to explore after beating the game, raise the level cap, and add inbred hill folk that are surprisingly resistant to lasers.

Game companys are fuckin PC owners over left right + centre. Fable 3 PC release un-announced...  Assassins Creed Botherhood set for release 4 fuckin months after the consoles + now xbox exclusive DLC for New Vegas. You'd think they were tryin to get rid of PC Gaming they way they're goin about shit.

We should talk about exclusivity because PS3 owners are getting the shaft as well.
