First Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood DLC To Be PS3-Exclusive

Only on PlayStation will you be able to chill with and then kill for Copernicus.

Surprise! The first chunk of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood DLC will be exclusive to the PS3, the very same console Ubisoft debuted the first game on and then used for its exclusive pre-order beta of this third game. These roots run deep, man. Deep.

"Copernicus Conspiracy," as this bit of content is called, will be free and available for download on launch day (November 16), according to a recent PS Blog post. As its name gives away, the content will feature the famous astronomer Copernicus, though the specific reason why Ezio would need to interact with the man is beyond us at the moment. That said, the PS Blog post does mention that the content will be composed of basic courier, assassination, and protection missions, indicating that this probably won't be the kind of hard-hitting DLC jealous Xbox 360 owners should be losing sleep over, nor the kind of content that we should realistically expect to have some sort of deep and meaningful connection to the game's main story. Could be wrong, though, in all fairness.

No, no, no. You stab the horse first because that's funnier AND the dude gets crushed.

== TEASER ==Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, if you didn't know, is the multiplayer-centric sequel to the fabulous Assassin's Creed II. Back in June, Jeff was high on its contract-based, murder mystery approach to Versus stealth play. This little Quick Look of the beta right below might also help you get a better grip on the title's multiplayer, too.

BOO THIS MAN

Posted by Starklight

Oh man. I can hardly complain though, since my 360 has gotten so much other exclusive dlc...

Posted by Wuddel

I do like my PS3. But exclusive content in any cross plattform game needs to end.

Posted by zombie2011

Not gonna lie the DLC seems lame.

Posted by giancarlo123x

Looks like im in luck since im getting the PS3 version.

Posted by spazmaster666

Yes, because it's clearly exclusive DLC that ultimately makes me choose one platform over the other . . . <_<

Edited by sixpin

Not enough to get me to switch to the PS3 version. I bought AC and AC2 on 360. Don't feel like switching. Besides, the DLC and LImited Edition content were both kind of lame in AC2 anyway.

Can't stand multiplatform titles with exclusive content over another, even though I'll still have access to it with having the ps3 version preordered. I know the sting all too well when I only had a ps3, though still it isn't as much an insult over Case West being exclusive to 360. This DLC looks like a small addon with little incentive other than a few other extra side stuff, while Case West will carry on the story and have cooperative play that doesn't just feature two Chucks. -_-

I DON'T LIKE THIS ONE BIT

...so this is a timed exclusive, right? RIGHT?

fuck.

... Um, what?

well that sucks, hope it comes to xbox before i get tired of the game...

I don't care about exclusive DLC because most of it goes to the other platform eventually but this DLC does not seem like something to whine about not having, as the article says.
Edited by ExcessDan

I have both systems but there's no chance that this will make me buy the PS3 version instead.  The better platform wins out for me-- especially when there is multiplayer involved.

I didn't really mind the other exclusive bonuses they gave to the PS3 version of AC2 but since this has some story content in i'm kinda pissed off at Ubisoft.

Maybe it's just like the Assassination Contracts in AC2 but still.  I love the overall story of Assassin's Creed and i hate missing some of it because i only have one version of the game.

Console exclusive DLC is bullshit. Hurts the consumer. Make the WHOLE game exclusive. Don't make a good chunk of your audience miss out.

Posted by hagridore

I own both systems and the Assassin's Creed series has always run better on the 360 (and without mandatory installs.) So who gets the last laugh?

So when MS does it with COD for 3 years, it's okey since it is strategic move,  but when Sony does is, it's gay? Okey...

Posted by ThricebornPhoenix

I'm opposed to exclusivity in general, but console-exclusive DLC is just stupid. I wonder, if it turns out to be a timed exclusive (even more stupid?), will it be free on the 360?

Posted by JackSukeru

Well that's neat I guess..

Actually if it's just that I probably won't care, but this does remind me that maybe I should care that this game is coming out, since I really dug AC2.

You win this round KB, Vice President of Developer Kickbacks.

PS3 players, because they haven't received official word that their subscription money goes to paying for exclusives.

This is mindboggling. The hatred for it even more.
Posted by UncleBenny

does anyone know if AC:B may utilitze your AC2 save in some way?
Posted by Soulblitz

I don't give two shits about the 360 getting exclusive COD DLC, but Assassin's Creed?

ARGH.

Posted by Hamz

Good for Sony and even better for PS3 players! :)

Posted by HydraHam

Not a big a blow as GTA or COD times exclusive or exclusives but it's a start i guess? i am sure ps3 fanboys are running around trolling forums in joy right now.

I could personally care less about exclusive stuff but i own all 3 consoles, i know not everyone can afford them, as far as DLC exclusive stuff goes i think it shouldn't exist, from a marketing standpoint i could see why but from a gamer standpoint it's fucking stupid.

Same!

Really hope Sony didn't pay much for this timed DLC.

Posted by Duffyside

I hope this means the PS3 version won't run like absolute shit like last time.

Posted by TheMasterDS

No no no, you got it all wrong. The man should be killed first, not the horse. As Mal of Firefly put it, Dead horse is cover, live horse great pile of panic.

I'm just sick of DLC period. Should be all packed in to the original game. This information would have been so helpful at 1am this morning when I was deciding weather to get the PS3 or 360 on CDWOW! I chose to preorder the Xbox version as that's what I got the original AC on. Eh, doesn't bother me as I probably won't bother with any DLC.

SEXCLUSIVE!!!!!!!!!!

No, but seriously, I thought we went over this. there is no such thing as an exclusive.

Posted by Skittlenizzle

I am getting the PS3 version anyways, so this is kind of cool to get some free dlc. =]

Posted by StartAndPause

I was going to buy this, but now me and my xbox 360 will find other games to play instead.

I was actually going to point out the exact opposite.  When Microsoft does something like this, there's utter outrage about how they're evil and the worst thing to ever happen to gaming.  Just look at the announcement for the exclusive New Vegas DLC.

There's no where near as much fuss caused whenever Sony does exactly the same thing.

Console exclusive DLC is bullshit.
However, whats even more annoying is when they advertise future DLC for a game thats not even out yet, it should just be packaged initially with the original game. I understand why they do this, and how there can also be different internal teams working on other content for the game that may be seperate from the main development timeline, but I still feel its unfair on the consumer.

Posted by xyzygy

Assassin's Creed DLC has been crap before, and this doesn't look any different.

Posted by TFG

Interesting, yet another reason to have a PS3 I guess. But seriously i don't get exclusivity with DLC. Does it really make you that much more money at the inconvenience of the people?

Posted by ZeForgotten

A lot more whining from the 360 fanboys than there's whining from the PS3 fanboys when the 360 gets something exclusive.

*whispering is heard*
Oh, riiiiight. That's because that's only timed exclusives..
Carry on!

Probably because they're more used to it - Fallout 3, Modern Warfare 2, New Vegas, Dead Rising 2. :P

first of all i don't buy your premise that ps3 fanboys don't whine. i think they just whine so loudly and often about anything and everything, we all just tune them out.
but also the other assassin's creed games both sold better on the 360 and they also ran a lot better on the 360. i'm wary of buying the playstation version of this game just because the ps3 version of ac2 was kind of busted. so you can see how even people who have both systems might not be happy to hear this news.
Posted by MormonWarrior

Odd, the Xbox 360 versions of the past two Assassin's Creed games have run vastly superior to the PS3 versions. Maybe they'll have fixed it for Brotherhood.

Posted by Kyle

The DLC might be on PS3, but 360 is still where all my friends will be. Sorry, Sony. I'm still buying multiplayer games on my Xbox.

Posted by Lazyaza

I have a 360 and a PS3 but I don't want to get the ps3 version damn it, not when both ac1 and ac2 ran poorer and looked visually worse on ps3 and not when I would much rather have achievements than trophies.  Fuck you ubisoft.
