For All You BLOPers Out There: New Maps Hitting Xbox Live On May 3

Retailer GAME Australia leaked this announcement, but now the information within the leak is official: a new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack called “Escalation” is coming, and its hitting this May 3 on Xbox Live Marketplace. Escalation will usher in a total of four new competitive maps and a fresh zombie 
(wait, is "fresh zombie" an oxymoron?) mode map that will come loaded with a nice perk for fans: a cast of “all-new playable characters” according to Xbox Live guru and mouthpiece Major Nelson.

So, where will this pack thrust you and your fellow BLOPers? “Zoo” will take you to the grounds of an abandoned Russian zoo, “Hotel” will keep the killin’ classy on the rooftop of a Cuban luxury hotel, while “Convoy” will test your close-quarters mettle on the grounds of an ambushed US convoy, and “Stockpile” will have you WMD facility-hopping in a secret Russian farm town.

15 dollars for 5 maps is a rip-off. 

Ya know...  I have no desire to pay for a map pack when honestly the maps it shipped with were kinda terrible.  Kinda was the same case with the last game too.  CoD4 had some pretty awesome maps but the ones made in call of duty games now adays are kinda really lame except for a few exceptions.

Hearing "BLOP's" being used so casually made me cringe. Now, BLOPers?..eugh

I sold Black-Ops a week after I bought it, and I'm happy to jump off the bandwagon thanks.

Black-Ops wasn't the cause of my gradually growing lack of interest in certain video-games, but it definitely sped things up a tad.

I love the irrational hate, instead of saying, it's not for me, people just want to bash and just ignore the MILLIONS of people who've already dropped dime on map packs already. if most people play 1 r 2 games and one of those games happen to be BLOPs, of course something liek this is a deal to them, seeing as they will play that game for hours. It's just new playgrounds to play in.

Sweet, even more maps that make late 90's QuakeWorld maps look fucking amazing in comparison.

(..and makes MW2 look even better. Like we've all decided on the PC version.)

I remember when companies used to release mod tools and you would end up with games like counter-strike, day of defeat, natural selection, firearms...

Now it's just a handful of maps for 15 bucks before the next disposable game comes out this winter.

EDIT:  It just dawned on me that some multiplayer  modes in blops like gun game came out of the mod scene.  That and I wonder how many people doing level design for these maps got their start by making maps with mod tools.  Map packs just begin to make less and less sense to me.  Other than the gash grab concept of course.

Like I'm gonna drop more money on this game.

i stopped playing this months ago (except when my buddy comes over he makes me play sticks and stones). this game fucking blows. and i didnt waste $15 on the last map pack either. 

I laugh a hollow laugh at Black Ops.
