I'm going to have to agree with Cesb02. I'm not sure Rock Band or Guitar Hero were ever "cool" per say. They're cool games but it's not like guys are going around picking up girls with "Hey baby, I can play drums on expert." They just make you feel cool when you play them. Let everyone pretend they're a rock star, it's fun!

I was halfway expecting them to ask "Is this for the Wii, too?"

Good for them, I just don't wanna watch it.

They were playing on easy. lol

LOL, oh well, it's still nice to see someone over 40 playing a "videogame" and not calling it a waste of time.  I say, "Rock on Middle-agers!"

I'm glad to see video games in a positive light in the mainstream media, FiNALLY.  I'm just so sorry that so many ears had to bleed.  I'm almost positve the children of all those people killed themselves, thirty minutes later.

At least I didn't have to endure the 30 minutes of someone explaining to them exactly how the game works and how to use the guitar

Man, that was funny. On a more serious note, I don't like all the attention that gaming is getting thanks to the so called 'casual' game. I liked the days when the only media attention gaming used to get was a small article about GTA in some local newspaper. And thanks to this attention, there is a chance that most publishers will just forget about making good games and just start releasing cutesy pieces of rubbish to please the casual audience. Its like they want to do to gaming what they do to all new forms of expression, commercialize and kill it. But on the other hand, this is better than news about shooters being "murder-simulators"  and whatnot.

That video is just awkward. I like the clip they had on not too long ago of Meredith Viera doing some kind of SWAT-like training simulations. They were cuffing her and dragging her away and she very daintily said "Ow, OK guys you're hurting me." I chuckled.

I can just imagine what Alex Navarro and the other people at Harmonix were thinking when they saw this.

I am not exaggerating right now when I say that was traumatic. Oh god. I think I am going to go trade in all my music games. Oh no. no no no no.... I think I am not going to look at gaming sites for a few days. Should also be known that I loath the today show and anything remotely similar or associated with it.
