Gears of War "Triple Pack" Announced

Attention of all three of you Xbox 360 owners who don't own any copies of Gears of War: Microsoft and Epic Games have announced the Gears of War Triple Pack, a $30 bundle that includes the original Gears of War and its sequel, as well as the vast majority of downloadable content that was released for both games. 

According to today's press release, the multiplayer-focused DLC totals to about 19 maps. What’s missing is the first map pack for Gears, “Multiplayer Map Pack 1” and the “Hidden Fronts” map pack, which isn’t a big deal considering that you can still download both on Xbox Live for the price of zero dollars.

Odd choice of words, isn't one a piece of GoW2 DLC.

The patch that they released for GoW 1 after gears 2 was sinister. 

Im guessing it was chosen to make us accustomed to Gear of War and the number three being together.

I will wait for the inevitable edition of all 3 GoW games in a pack, the fabled Quad-Damage Edition.

Is that really a triple pack? It's Gears of War 1 and 2 and some lame DLC. 

I think triple pack is a rather misleading title. 

It's kind of silly that they called it the Triple Pack, misleads people into thinking it includes Gears 3... although I seem to remember the same thing happening with Halo before Halo 3's release

The only people who will buy this are the ones who don't already own gears 1 and 2 so eh I guess its nice for them.  I didn't play gears 2 until september last year, it sucks to miss a games peak time especially one as fun as gears2 with so much awesome co-op/multiplayer stuff.

I can't download Gears DLC so easily here in Germany, so I might get this.

...but for $14.99 I can buy both games at GameStop.

Thats a pretty damn good deal.  And these are HD re-releases too!  Way to go Microsoft!

Played first GoW. Didn't care for it at all. Didn't think it was a very good looking game despite what everyone else said, story was uninteresting even by shooter standards. Gameplay was competent I give it that, but somehow didn't like it very much anyway. It lacked a soul for lack of a better word. I'm sure it was some good programming, but artistically it was horrible in every way.

I don't like Gears of War. I played and beat the first two out of obligation, and I am having a hard time understanding the popularity of those games.

Seems kind of strange they would release this in February with Gears 3 set for around November.

This seems a bit odd, a retaliation to Sony's recent spat of triple packs?

Wonder if they've added the PC only Gears of War levels for the first where you fight the Brumak (or however you spell it's name) probably not but it would be nice to finally let xbox owners play that section.

speaking as one of those three people who have never, and still don't, own a copy of either of these two games...  I still don't care about marcus and dom.  maybe MAYBE i'll rent number three from gamefly like i did the other two, but i doubt it.

This is dumb.  This is like Mass Effect 2 on the Playstation 3.  If you are and can release everything on one disc, why not?  I have a 20 GB original HDD with my Xbox 360 and since I only bought the first GeoW, I wouldn't mind buying the triple pack if everyone is on one disc.  Since HDD space is running critically low anyways, I think I will just pass.

Will probably actually buy this. Already played both with friends, but seeing as I am a rather recent 360 owner, seems like a good deal. Actually cheaper than buying both used, at least in my area.

I think I'd be better if they did a gears 3 collectors edition with all games. $100 or something.

These things should be called Legacy Packs, not Triple Packs. As for its necessity, who cares? No one is making you buy it, let the consumer decide.

No one else caught on that this is exactly a copy of God of War? 3 is coming out, first and second on the same disc, both have the same acronym (GoW)...
